Hospice definately!
Hospice MAXIMIZES supportive + comfort care. Lots of support to family before and after one dies that is helpful. The dying process is a journey that Hospice can show possitive influence on to maxamize quality of life with symptom management--- to live life to it's fullest. I've even have had patients get off Hospice because their physical symptoms were well controlled after 1-2 years too!
Best Wishes to you in your journey Fran. You have the allnurses community behind you :kiss
Will have to double your ice cream order
We did hospice with my father also. I've never met such compassionate folks ever before. They were wonderful.
Like everyone else Fran - I'm sorry that you are making this type of decision but am glad that you are ABLE to make the decision. You are such a valued member of our community. Thanks for all you do. judi
After this last hospital experience, I have chosen hospice. It will probably start next month.
i'm curious to see what your doctor says, fran.
he might be reluctant in providing a terminal diagnosis at this time.
but you can share your wishes re: your course of treatment and your thoughts on hospitalization.
i know how very tired you are, my friend.
when it's your time, everyone involved will know. i promise.
leslie xo
I'm just waiting to spend some time with you and my baby girl with the grandbabies I havn't seen so long. Then I will be ready. Physician appt was cancelled for now. My transportation had a break. Antifreeze was spewing all over the place. Heh, it just gives me more time to eat some more ice cream.
