I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

I'm actually happy that everything is going so well and you guys have pulled in sooo much info!! I'm also happy that i'm going to be surrounded by hot chicks :):saint::yes::smokin::woot:

Hahaha!! You're so funny

Lmao @leroymon

Specializes in Emergency.

@SILVACH24 Thabks for the support! Going through Human Resources for a position is tough. I don't know why but there seems to be little communication between department managers and the hiring people in HR. It helps to know someone who can personally introduce you to the manager of the department where you want to work. You can also seek out their office number to let them know that you've applied and request an interview. It seems weird and pushy but most department managers are so busy that you really have to push your way in. Also, and as a general rule, some departments are much more difficult to get into: mother/baby and labor/delivery, emergency, peds, are all tough.

Congrats on your seat, I wish u the best and stay optimistic. Any tips on getting into a hospital with no experience? I Have been applying with no luck

So are you trying to get a cna job? Or volunteer?

Good luck! HCC would be losing their opportunity to get a great student like yourself! GPA is important, but they should consider some of the experience as well! Have you tried USF? It sounds like they consider experience, characteristics, and writing skills than HCC(and you get a BSN)!

I volunteer at the hospital already im trying to get a transporter, registrar, unit secretary anything entry

I didn't even think of volunteering, I will look into that. Are most of you planning to work and go to school at the same time?

Hello all, I was in the online neighborhood (lol) and congrats to those who got in!

Hey SILVACH24, I may not be part of the class but would you mind if I joined the FB group anyway? To learn about the group's experiences both for me as well as to pass on any tips to future students who might join me next year...
