I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Found out today that I was denied Fall 2014 placement. I will be reapplying for Spring 2015 placement with a 3.429 gpa. There isn't really any time for me to try and take another math class or anything to boost gpa. Will be *hopefully* applying to SPC and PHCC as well. They have later deadlines (September), So I plan on taking Psych and a computer class this Summer. Will meet with an academic advisor to just double check my plan lol.

Really just want to get into HCC though. But if I don't get in I will probably do an LPN program for fall and then do LPN bridge to RN afterwards.

^_^ FYI I got my acceptance letter 12 weeks and 1 day after the the fall deadline in January. So in theory we should know around August 24th.

Congrats.. so since u got in are u still applying for spring at hcc? I applied today for admission into usf . I dont have a foreign language tho.. ill take my first spanish semester this summer. Super excited. ..

O ok ok.. I thought u said u got ur acceptance letter.. so I thought u got accepted.. even tho u said u were denied. I got confused. Welcome to the group! We havent been as active. And its making me nervous, im wondering if not many people are applying. Im finishing up my prerequisite this semester so ill be turning in my packet 2nd week of may, after grades are in. I will also be applying to USF BSN program so if I were to be accepted then I would finish only spring semester and then drop the program to transfer to USF.

Well the advisor at hcc day a 3.4 is good to get in for spring. I have a 3.6 but after this semester ill have a 3.71 because I'm taking microbiology with lab. And Im getting an A in

For the Spring 2013 cycle, I got my letter the 3rd week of September; I wish it was August. It is a LONG summer waiting for that letter. :)

@Gradius, wasn't it one of the recent past spring cycles that got new staff who handled the whole process?? I wonder if that was for the delay. But I think the official time frame window is 12-15 weeks from deadline.

That I'm afraid I do not recall. But if our deadline in Spring 2013 was June 1, 2012, then September 2012 was spot for that 12-15 week window. I'm not applying to HCC again until Fall 2015 at the earliest so, I hope it will be super efficient by then! :)

Seriously, most other programs you know between 1 week to 2 months from deadline max. HCC decision time is kind of ridiculous.

Exactly-- I interviewed for UCF's ABSN program last year... had an answer in 1 week. Efficiency FTW.

Ok everyone only 3 more weeks! And semesterbis over and applications can go out.

@gradius I looked into usf unfortunately I have to have 8 to 10 credits foreign language or 2 years in highschool to transfer since I would be a lower level transfer. So I guess im apply for spring and praying for acceptance in the rn to bsn program or I may go straight for msn. We will see

Generally as far as I know (at least, UCF for example), if you apply RN to BSN you're pretty much in. It's not really competitive, per se. Spring it is then. You'll be fine with a 3.7, trust me.
