I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?
Yes I want to get it up for sure. Do you know how I would go about starting my prerequisites at a different school? One close to my home now? I understand that a student cant enroll at two different schools. Id really like to take my prerequisites here in Gainesville then apply to the nursing program. I have applied to hcc but have to turn in transcripts.
Unfortunately im not familiar with your area, but like the previous post said, you can enroll in two schools at once. Then transfer to the main school when ready. And as for starting your prerequisites you would look at what classes you already passed and did and then go along with the other needed classes. To apply to HCC you need A&P1 with lab A&P2 with lab college algebra, microbiology with lab and socioiology I believe... I have my paper at home. I took the kids out for ice cream. Ill double check
Thank you!!! I am so excited to get started and move forward. I did some research..I believe to be enrolled in 2 schools would require being a "transient" student at the 2nd school. If anyone has heard of a different way please let me know :-)
This thread is simply amazing so glad I found it.
How is everyone? Only 6 more weeks till school is out... I was thinking about holding off on applying to the spring.. Im going to be applying for HCC fall ... some educational opportunities came up and im going to apply to another program but I would hate to start the program at HCC spring and have to dropbout because another school accepted me.

Be advised, Fall's floor GPA is MUCH higher than Spring's. A 3.7 in Spring is an admit, while a 3.7 for Fall could be a waitlist.
This is why I'm taking Trig this summer for instance, to boost my GPA if I get an A in it. That and Plant City Campus is closer to me but that's another story. :)

What would happen if I dropped from the spring program once I start it? But because I got accepted at a university?

Then you would be out one semester worth of tuition at HCC. You might as well finish the semester if it ever came to that, so that, god forbid, something happened at USF in Semester 1, you'd at least be 25% done with HCC's program at least and you could go back later.
Found out today that I was denied Fall 2014 placement. I will be reapplying for Spring 2015 placement with a 3.429 gpa. There isn't really any time for me to try and take another math class or anything to boost gpa. Will be *hopefully* applying to SPC and PHCC as well. They have later deadlines (September), So I plan on taking Psych and a computer class this Summer. Will meet with an academic advisor to just double check my plan lol.
Really just want to get into HCC though. But if I don't get in I will probably do an LPN program for fall and then do LPN bridge to RN afterwards.
^_^ FYI I got my acceptance letter 12 weeks and 1 day after the the fall deadline in January. So in theory we should know around August 24th.

Actually you can be enrolled in 2 different schools, I am currently taking classes at 2 schools and at the end, I will just have my transcript sent to my primary school.
