I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

My family members are riding me about why I've not turned in the app yet, despite me telling them the reason. They say I'm wasting my time, I don't have to wait on those transcripts. I'm sure they're all anxious, like I am. But they're saying things like: if you wait to hand in close to the deadline, you won't get chosen, even if your GPA is good. There's other ppl that will have already handed theirs in, that have similar GPAs and they'll get chosen first because they handed in first.

Is this true? I thought if I handed it in anytime before the deadline, my app will be considered. I thought acceptance was solely on GPA, well there may be other things that I'm not aware of, but not first come first serve. Please help, I'm feeling awful for not having handed in, but this transcript thing is out of my control for a couple more days. All I can do is wait on the mailman to deliver.

Yep like everyone else said. Its only based on prereq GPA. Or your overall as well only to break a tie.

I don't even think they bother looking at applications till after the deadline. They probably just collect them all. I know it's most definitely not first come first serve. Just get everything in before June 1st! :)

The official transcript arrived in my mailbox today. I hope to turn everything in tomorrow!! I called HCC again to see if they got the transcripts & of course they say, "no". I hope putting them in with my app is good enough.
