This stupid app on my phone wasn't working but I already turned it in lol I put the check in an envelope and stapled it to the application and then put it in the big one... oops, how it doesn't matter. I was just being a little ocd lol

I got the "unofficial" transcripts today, from the technical school. I called HCC and they said they didn't get any and don't require it, but I know better ?. I did call the lady back, on Monday and yesterday, requesting she send me the official one. She said she did, yesterday. If she's being honest, I should get them tomorrow. Just in time to get my application in. I hope this works out. Crossing my fingers! Does anyone know if it's ok to just include the transcript with my app? Or does it have to be scanned in to HCCs computer system via records dept?

Oh yes, I know that. I'm waiting on the official one to arrive at my house, should be here tomorrow. HCC should have received it today (an official). But in case they don't scan it in their records in time and I include the official copy I get, with my app, is that ok? Or does it have to be scanned into HCCs computer or whatever they do with it. I don't know if I'm making any sense.

The only reason I ended up with an unofficial transcript, is because the lady at my old school took it upon herself to mail me that; although I requested an official.

My family members are riding me about why I've not turned in the app yet, despite me telling them the reason. They say I'm wasting my time, I don't have to wait on those transcripts. I'm sure they're all anxious, like I am. But they're saying things like: if you wait to hand in close to the deadline, you won't get chosen, even if your GPA is good. There's other ppl that will have already handed theirs in, that have similar GPAs and they'll get chosen first because they handed in first.

Is this true? I thought if I handed it in anytime before the deadline, my app will be considered. I thought acceptance was solely on GPA, well there may be other things that I'm not aware of, but not first come first serve. Please help, I'm feeling awful for not having handed in, but this transcript thing is out of my control for a couple more days. All I can do is wait on the mailman to deliver.

It's not first come first serve. As long as you get everything in before the deadline- app, high school/college transcripts, app fee, copies of certifications if you have them, and a signed consent form for the background (I think)- you will be considered. Stop worrying and don't let your family tell you anything unless they have applied before...they really won't know what they're talking about.

Thanks! I'm so glad to be a part of this thread. Having others to chat with about this process, means a lot. And no, none of them have applied before. Maybe it makes them feel better to complain about what I'm doing, or "not doing" - in their eyes.

Yaalisa ur family is very excited. But just keep peace that its all GPA. As long as it gets turned in before June 1st

It is all GPA girl! don't worry about it..i know your family is excited about it and/or worried just let them know it is not based on the last person or first person based or first come first serve..just submit it by june 1st you will be fine.. Don't feel awful..u got this! hang on! :)
