I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Quick update, I faxed the technical school yesterday & requested sealed transcripts be sent to me & HCC. The lady confirmed she got my fax and she says she already put them in the mail.. Which is great! Until she added: I sent you unofficial and HCC official WAIT!!! WHAT?!?! that's not what I requested. She said I sent it that way, so you knew what you had. No, I wanted to put with my application. Just throwing another wrench in things. I feel like calling her back and saying send the right thing. I know HCC will get it, but the problem is, they are slow.

If u r worried call back n ask her to send u one official asap!!!...

As peace to your mind u should call and ask that she sends them officially to u also. I know was being helpful but u have to have assurance, prev post was correct. Call back asap and ask for official.

Should we bother trying to check with admissions and stuff to see if they have our official high school transcripts? Just cause on the checklist it says to do so. I figure the school has them, I started college like 6 months after I graduated and I had them sent.

This is a stupid question but when filling out the app it says application term and we check off spring- June 1st and then it says year do we put 2014 or 2015 cause it's 2014 now but 2015 the program were applying for

2015.

My application has been sent off today via mail; couldn't take time off from work to take it in myself. Does anyone else who's turned it in feel really good? I feel like I accomplished something. Funny, huh?

Thanks! Should we staple our check to the app and put it in the big envelope or put the check in a little envelope and then everything the the big one lol

I would definitely check. I started taking classes in 2005 and I know I submitted mine. It was a requirement to begin taking classes. Once I started the process of applying for this program, I checked webadvisor and it said not received, need ASAP. I had it sent there last month, they told me they received it (when I called and asked), But webadvisor was not updated as received until almost 2 weeks later. It's annoying how slow they are.

I agree about double checking. I would check and check untill I feel good. That is exactly y I included a copy of my old college and high school transcripts, even though it was required to start HCC already 4 years ago. I still did it, for peace at mind. I feel good also about turning in my app. Im just excited for that day I get my acceptance letter in the mail, then take a picture and post it on Facebook! Im super excited. I know by 2020 80% of nurses will be required to have their bachelor's degree. But we all can just transfer and do it online. Does anyone feel a facility in a hospital setting will still hire an ASN if we inform them we are working on a BSN. I would like to apply to a preferred BSN job and let them know I am working on my BSN in hopes I will be selected. :/ im just concerned with finding a job afterwards ya know.

Just put the check don't staple it and put all in the big envelope:up:

Ok guys I just got off the phone with a lady named Pamela at the nursing department, phone number (813) 253-7268

I told her I had turned in the old application and if the new one was required and yes abruptly told me "YES!".

So I am on my way to drop off the new updated nursing application.

That what I was worried about, I was told to increase your chances of being hired with an ASN is to work already in a hospital so when you graduate they will take you. That what I'm going to do, going for a CNA this summer.
