I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Also FYI if you turned in the old application you don't have to redo a new one, but if you're tensed about it, you can turn in the new app, if you want to

I haven't turned mine in yet, or even looked at the new app. I was going to fill it out tmr and drop it off Monday. Thanks though!

I need some help!! I swear I've read the application so many times and just realized it said I need transcripts from vocational or technical. I went to a vocational school years ago for CNA & phlebotomy. I totally forgot about going there. I know, that might sound strange. I have no idea if I can get my transcripts in time, some places drag their feet.

I know people earn technical or vocational credits from colleges, do you think that's what the application is meaning? I'm really hoping so. I could scream right now. 

It mean like CNA and phlebotomy course you did...is the license still valid? if so you can submit with the app...but if you do that you might have to turn in the transcript for all those classes..I'm not 100% sure but if you don't turn it might not hurt u...again it depends, if you used those transcript to get into HCC.. again I'm not 100% sure...so to be safe ask for a transcript ask them to send it express and put the list on app..if you don't chose to it might not hurt u ( not sure answer here)

The CNA is valid and I've made a copy of it to include with the application. I never got state certified in phlebotomy (they didn't require it back then) and I have not worked in the field. I didn't use my transcript from that school to get into HCC, only my high school one. I'm going to see what they say, I'll call them Monday. But since the application is due 6/1 and that's a Sunday, in essence it's really due 5/30?? Plus, Memorial Day is coming up, I'm really cutting it close. From my experience, HCC is pretty slow updating their records after receiving transcripts. I might need to have it mailed to my address as well. Thanks for your help, Leroymon.

If you including the CNA make sure you get their transcript at least..if you don't want to use phlebotomy then you don't have to get those transcript but I won't write that you had gone to phlebotomy school just in case...I know you're cutting close to the date try to get it before u turn in the app...if you can't then turn it in without the transcript but if you include the license they would want to see transcript so it is a tight situation..try to get the transcript if you can go to the office if it is local or tell them to send it to u right away..whatever u have to do get it..hope it works! keep us updated..i pray that u get it on time !! if not just turn in the app without CNA certification n don't mention it..

Try to get the transcript mailed to u, not HCC..!!! this way u can just drop both the app.!!

So, I'm reading about this application change. I agree it seems geared towards the Fall 2015 class, but I think I'm going to print and drop off the newly added forms just to be on the safe side. I would hate for something silly like that to affect our application. I wish you all the best of luck and I can't wait to hear everyone saying they received their acceptance letters!!!!!!

If you turned in one..don't have to do it again..but it is your choice to turn in again if you want..again there is nothing wrong with the old app...good luck to u too

I will jump in here and say if you do not have EVERYTHING they could possibly want, you will be denied. Trust me, that's what happened the first time I applied. The point? In a case like this there is no such thing as sending too much, better to "overprepare" vs "underprepare" here.

Your right. But if the new app includes the teas, will it hurt us by sending in the new app? And not doing the teas?

The application asks for your initials in each box and it clearly says TEAS scores must be submitted beginning with the January 15, 2015 deadline.

Thanks. The school is in Port Charlotte, FL. Not too far from here, if I have to go there, I will. I really need it fast. So I'll keep you all updated on how it goes.

I'm sure you're right. I'm going to do everything in my power to get the transcripts. I've been wanting to join the program for so long & I'd hate to be denied. But if I am unable to get them in time and don't put the school on my application, do you think there's a way they can find out I went to the school? Some kind of database they look in?
