I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Thanks! Have you got your books yet? I'm sure you are still busy with classes. I can't wait for this semester to be over, then I can focus on reading for NP1.

Omg me too! I'm working full time right now for training, and full time classes with finals and papers due. It's killing me. I haven't bought my books yet. I will do it after the semester. So like December 14th. Then I'll have to play catch up. So it's like I have no time to breath in between semesters. Grrrr ...

Ya the books are at the DM store. I'm getting mine this week.

Awesome I didn't know the books were there already. Awsome. I'll get mine mid december

I am in DM morning right now. We actually just finished up with Richey and have started mental health.

Anything you wish you knew before you started?

Great! Get reading! Learn you conversions for calculations because you will have to pass a test before you pass meds in the hospital.

Yes, I came from straight from Summer courses and never had a break to regroup and get myself in order. Therefore I was behind before even starting. Other than that problem, make sure you know your med terms abbreviations...try and learn you conversions for calculations and try to get ahead on reading. If you have your syllabus already. Get moving now :sneaky:

Happy Thanksgiving all! I forgot to tell you to study your lab values because you will need to know normal ranges. For example: WBC, RBC, BUN, Creatinine, Hgb, Hct, platelets, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride just to name a few.

Hey guys,

I have one more docunent to scan today: confidentiality and security agreement....

The botton where we sign is confusing me:

Employee/workforce member (i assume thats us lol)

Facility name and COID (What is that? What do we write?)

Business Entity Name (?? What do i put here)

Also, when we created our order on certified profile it asked our classifocation and i just put not classified because it only showed nursing 2014 .. what did you guys put?
