I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

I'm uploading my stuff to certified this week. This sounds so dumb but how do I scan something the papers to the computer to upload them? I don't have a scanner at home and I have never done that before lol I'm not tech savy..... at all. I'm like an old woman.

And how do we get a parking pass???????

I put the app on my phone & have been taking pics. It's real easy.

Hello how is everyone doing? My professor write her group.. The evening group. Has anyone else's teacher wrote

Mine has not, DM morning. I wish she would have though. What did yours say?

Specializes in Urology.

Professor Richey will write you soon. I am giving you all advice get ahead of the game! DM AM be prepared to park far away if you arrive after 8 so give yourself some time to walk. There is never close parking except on Fridays. Try to get your books ASAP and start reading. There is so much to cover in so little time. Stay focused...she is not an easy teacher. We lost 4 ppl before the deadline date at the end of October. Good Luck to everyone. Sorry I haven't been in here but you honestly don't have time for anything else.

Thanks so much for your words of advice! Which semester are you in? First? I'm not sure if the books are available at DM yet. I'm prepared for no life. But I'm also scared of how hard it's going to be.

Hello All,

Just wanted to take a moment (between study sessions) to welcome you all to the HCC Nursing program. As our colleague lovelylioness23 stated, make sure you get your books early and start reading and getting familiar with the material as soon as possible. NP1 can be challenging for many because the nursing program requires a completely new way of thinking. Things are no longer black or white, but many shades of grey, and there is almost always more then one correct answer to the questions being asked. Enough for now, I must get back to studying for finals & HESI coming up soon. Good Luck to you all.

She stated she would like us to read chap 1 through 9 skipping chap 7 in calculations book. And chap 28 29 and 39 in nursing fundamentals. She informed us that the first 3 weeks will be clinical in the lab. And then we will go to our assignments. And within the first 3 weeks we have our calculations text and need an 80 to go on to clinicals

Good luck to u two for finals! Thank you for giving us insight. Sorry about your class mates loss.

Thanks! Have you got your books yet? I'm sure you are still busy with classes. I can't wait for this semester to be over, then I can focus on reading for NP1.
