I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and I've been going thru some of the past threads.

I have started on my pre-req's and I'm getting ready to sign up for Anatomy I this upcoming Spring. Question: Is anyone familiar with the distant online class at the Dale Mabry location with Smith as the teacher? Should Anatomy be taken in person or is online sufficient? It would be easier for me to do it online than going to the Brandon location.

Thanks!

I had Smith for A&P1 lecture (online) and it was a very hard class. I learned a lot, I did get an A, but that was the hardest A I ever earned. I literally had no life. If you have the opportunity to take it on campus, I'd recommend that. Smith is a great professor!

Specializes in VA, Ortho, Med/Surg.

Correction: Nelson is 40.00

Stop it. You're all tempting me to retake A/P now lol. With Smith. I had Vincent Scialli forlecture, some old fart for lab. He was useless. Son had Meads who has you print off slides every week if you don't want to take notes but the library only lets you print off 25 pages a day where Meads has you printing off 250 pages or more per week or just feel free to take notes in class lol

2 hr class, not 2 yr class yikes. any 2 yr class would suck lol...on the CPR

why can't you guys buy used books at half.com or something?? My son's A/P book was SPIRAL....terrible...cheap crap. When you need to be turning pages quickly spiral is not the way to go. That was Mark Meads class on Saturdays.

What is Np?

I had Smith. I LOVE HER! She is the sweetest lady and really wants to help everyone. And she knows her stuff!

Honestly, I never went to class for A&P1 and still got an A. I got 100% on every test besides one.

The tests were EXACTLY the study guide. If you did that and knew the answers and basically memorized it, that was the test. Only one test was a little trickier: It was the third one I believe.

A&P2 with her was harder. The study guides were helpful, but much more detailed and took a lot longer to do. The only way to get an A in that class was to pay attention to her powerpoints and also read them all at home and memorize the info on them. The tests were from those and the study guides. I got a B in that class.

However, Smith is probably your best choice at HCC- for sure!

Lab with her is also great. Her A&P1 lab was basically a powerpoint you MEMORIZE and do a test on. But I think she might have changed that class.

A&P2 lab was basically just a quiz every class from the lab manual chapter she assigned. SO EASY. Just do the study guide she gives you, but definitely read the chapter to understand it. Because if not she will throw questions at you that weren't really in the study guide... but were easily read in the chapter.

Hope that helps!

Wait- so the dale mabry bookstore already got the E-book packages in????
