I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
Awesome! I've walked three years in a row, but I don't (and we as a thread/cohort) don't know we're SouthShore students yet.
However; I see the dates and I might be able to make it to join your walk. I'm just saying that most people in this thread don't know if they are SS students as of yet -- some take classes there (like myself and a few others) -- but I digress...
anybody get the campus assignment??....one of my friend got a letter and it says you can your chose any campus....they give choice...
I have not heard of anyone getting any letters regarding campus assinments yet. From past post it looks like campus assignments get mailed out 1 or 2 weeks before orientation and are bassed on the choices you made on the nursing application. Depending on your GPA you may or may not get your first choice campus assignments. We should know in about 2 or 3 weeks.

I know we don't know our nursing campus yet and we won't before the walk I'm sure, however, we are all student nurses now and since some of us attended south shore for all of our other class, we made a team. If you would like to join us, feel free to sign up. We don't mind if your from another campus.

I've seen that some of you have seen the voided check from the background check. My check has cleared, but I haven't heard anything back from HCC about it. Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything and if so, how were you notified? Not that I'm worried, I just want the all clear from HCC to attend orientation.

I haven't heard anything,some called to check but I think it's safe to say if you haven't heard anything your good:-)

I sent the health science dept an email to see if my backgrond check was completed and they replied within 24hrs and said everything was okay and to expect the campus assignment leters within the next 2 or 3 weeks. I did my background check on 9/30 and they had the results within 48hours on 10/1 per the email. Im sure you're good, if not they would have notified you already of a problem.
When you say you emailed the health dept, do you mean the nursing manager or someone else? I just want to know so I email the right person, just want to make sure my background check went through to them.
