Hello all,
I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
Gals and Guys:
I was thinking perhaps we should move our little banter off of Allnurses.com so that we're not spamming everything and everyone. We can keep the thread open for newcomers, but perhaps the day-to-day 'chatter' should be moved someplace else.
We could do a Facebook group or I could install a message board/forum software on my hosting account for the purpose.
Thoughts? Comments?
I'm all for keeping it here; but I don't want to waste AllNurses resources at the same time.

Two votes for Facebook. Others?
The main reason I am suggesting this, is that you very rarely see threads on AN >1000 posts and while all this information is helpful (for me) I don't want AN to get tired of us going back and forth and sanction all of us. I enjoy everyone's input and emotional support and would like that to continue and not get broken up by a technicality.
P.S. - I don't do Facebook, so if I sign up it will probably be under my "Deltacrux" meme. I had a Facebook account many years ago and had some dude wind up stalking my wife at work.
Okay, this may be a silly question, but I'll ask it anyways. I put in my FASFA and need to apply for financial aid for Spring 2014, but I got an email saying that I need to still fill out further forms, but nothing is showing up as missing in "my documents." Also, I was reading and apparently you have to be signed up for 6 credit hours to get loans, but we can't sign up till November. The loan deadline is November 2nd. I may go into HCC to ask what to do, but I wanted to check here first to see if anyone had any suggestions. I have never attended HCC, so I'm not too sure of what to do. Thanks!

Are those other forms the "Income Verification Sheets" sometimes needed for Stafford Loans? If so, you need to get a transcript from the IRS showing each line-item of your 1040 form. It takes about three weeks once you apply for them and it doesn't cost anything.
If not, what forms are they? I think I've gone through the wringer with HCC's Financial Aid process enough times I might be able to help.

Yeah.. It's kind of surprising that one of the things that they screen for is fraud. Yet, here they are making it easier to perpetrate. Ugh.
Yeah. I'm not too cool with it either, Felix. I want to let someone know as well, but before I turn my flamethrower on I want to make sure I should blast Health Sciences or the Criminal Justice department. Crazy stuff...
