Hillsborough Community College - Spring 2014

Published

Hello all,

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.

What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.

the more we get, the more I feel the nerves in my stomach, as the bride a day before marriage, yet I can not believe it .. :nurse:

I also have a stomach full of nerves. Its been a long road to get to where we are today, so close yet so far. I started this journey 18 month ago during the summer 2012 semester after being out of school for over 25 years, and here we are today just 90 days remaining before we officialy start the nursing program. I just want to get past orientation so i know im officialy in, until then anything can happen. Hopefuly my background check wont show that i played hooky from school in 11th grade causing me to be disaqualiied. :)

Finally the $50 for the background check was cashed!

Mine also cleared today, so now both my checks have cleared. Now we just sit back and wait for campus assignments to get here. I was told by current NP1 students that we should get them 2 or 3 weeks prior to orientation date.

I'm anxious about campus assignments b/c I really need nights! Orientation is a couple weeks later than it normally is. I wonder why everything is later this year.

e-books VS paper books? What do you think guys? I have been taking all my pre-reqs online and right now I'm taking Psychology, Stats:banghead: and Composition II online too, so I have been using e-books most of the time, but for my Nursing Program I will use "paper, regular, traditional" books, I don't know, old school maybe?

Thats a good question,I was thinking since most books are also available for iPads it would be better than carrying all those books around but don't know:-0

I think I want both. I like real books but don't want to carry them to class. Maybe ebooks for class and regular ones at home.
