Hello all,
I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.
I got my finger prints done this morning at the Ybor campus and droped off the acceptance letter at the DM campus. Now we wait AGAIN! I also talked to the person at the Health Science Dept and they confirmed tha the days listed on the orientaion letter is wrong. The correct days for orientation are Thursday/Friday November 21/22.[/quote']Thanks for the clarification of the days. I have to request time off from work! :)
Where are you located? I'm in Orlando so I may not get mine today either..
I'm in between Sarasota and Parrish.
I wonder if I can go to the Health Sciences Dept and get a copy of my letter. I have to go to Dale Mabry anyhow for my Ethics class tonight. Its a long shot, but better than me sitting here stressing over it.
P.S. - Just got an e-mail from Health Sciences saying to give it a week and to cool my jets. After this week, then let them know or come see them.
Did you verify with HCC that they have your correct address? I know you had a address change recently. I hope they didnt send it to the wrong location.
Oh I'm pretty sure they sent it to the Tampa address. I moved to Sarasota about three months after the deadline (and from when I submitted my app) and pretty sure I used my old Tampa address like an idiot. I changed my address with the school but not with the health sciences department.
They'll forward it since I did a change of address form, but Lord knows how long that will be.
Murphy's Law is my life... lol.
While at the DM campus today I stopped by the Nursing Lab and the teacher allowed me to come in and check out the lab while a couple nursing students were practicing patient care. I really enjoyed my short visit and it was really nice of her to allow me to watch for a couple minutes. I can’t wait to actually be in there doing my thing. I was like a kid in a candy store with a big ol cool aid smile on my face.:)

I bet that was fun FX. What were they practicing, do you remember by any chance?
