I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.
What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.

Thank god the cutoff wasn't too high this year. Im still amazed to get in with a 3.52 when yall habe 3.8 and up! Good job to everyone. FUTURE NURSES!!!
The reason I am debating appealing is because my GPA is low regardless...however I was hoping for an alternative seat. I calculated 3.14 but the letter said it was 2.695. Also, if they accept a microbiology course that I re-took then it would be 3.33. I enrolled in the course before the application deadline but I didn't have it completed until after so they probably won't accept it. Who knows. I think I will go to HCC Monday and talk to someone. Congratulations to the accepted!
I got an alternate seat and my GPA is a 3.67. I didn't take any of my classes at HCC I just applied there. Even though they say that this does not matter I sure it is still considered maybe when doing the tiebreakers but who knows.
Congratulations to everyone that was accepted to the Spring 2014 Class. I'm looking forward to finally meeting everyone and starting this new journey together. I didn't get a chance to post anything yesterday because my wife had a surprise B-Day party/barbecue for me yesterday and I got PLASTERED!!!! I GOT IN!! omg, My boyfriend saw me open the letter at the mailbox. He saw me collapse and start crying and go into a coughing fit cause I currently have bronchitis. He thought I was denied. Then I started laughing hysterically while crying. He was looking scared till I gave him the thumbs up because I couldn't breath. I then threw up next to my mailbox from coughing so much and had a car honk at me. The end. 3.52!
There is an error in my G.P.A so I might appeal but Im not sure if its worth it.
