  1. Fairly new graduate here. Class of dec 2015, started as a resident in february and have been on my own since July so you could say I've been nursing for nearly 6months. I've had some bad days but today takes the cake. My assignment was spread out between hallways with 5 patients including a total with a trach, peg, picc and about 15 pressure ulcers and dressing changes. The entire day I was being given my ass handed to me but I broke down after my encounter with the second condescending doctor for the day. I'm so tired of being treated like I'm incompetent and a nuisance for just trying to advocate for my patients. Worst of all I couldn't even go to a corner and cry or compose myself. I was so knee deep with patients, nuclear med, physicians, family, pharmacy and so on, I had to just keep moving mid break down. Yes some physicians are just plain *******s who need to be put in their place, but nurse to patient ratio is the root of nurse burnouts and poor patient care.
  2. I was able to get a prompt reply from Kirsten Whited. Just look her up on the directory from the HCC website
  3. After being rejected from HCC and very bummed, I was ecstatic to find out I have been accepted to SPC! :)
  4. I had my drug test and fingerprinting done by the deadline (14th) but under the website checklist it still says my fingerprinting is incomplete because it has to be approved. Does anyone else's checklist say the same thing?
  5. Hi, I just got accepted into the January 2014 program. Is there anyone who can give me a little info on the admissions process including background checks/drug screenings and program times?
  6. Hi everyone, I just found out that I have been accepted into Saint Petersburg College's Nursing program for this January of 2014! I am super excited and really want to talk to someone who has or is going through the same process.
  7. Hi everyone,, Im super stoked! After being rejected from the HCC program I have still been awaiting a reply from SPC and I just found out I got in!! If anyone is attending SPC let me know please!
  8. The reason I am debating appealing is because my GPA is low regardless...however I was hoping for an alternative seat. I calculated 3.14 but the letter said it was 2.695. Also, if they accept a microbiology course that I re-took then it would be 3.33. I enrolled in the course before the application deadline but I didn't have it completed until after so they probably won't accept it. Who knows. I think I will go to HCC Monday and talk to someone. Congratulations to the accepted!
  9. Was denied There is an error in my G.P.A so I might appeal but Im not sure if its worth it.
  10. No, no letter. This is insane
  11. Hi everyone, Can everyone post their G.P.A's so I know what the chances are this year? I'm concerned because mine is very low. Either a 3.13 or 3.33 if they accept a class I took after the application date. Thanks!
