Hillsborough Community College - Spring 2014

Published

Hello all,

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to HCC's Spring 2014 nursing program. I am a stay at home mom. I know its early but I wanted to get as much info as possible. The deadline isn't until 6/1. I'm a current HCC student. My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (all A's 1 B and 1 C ), I'm hoping that this is good enough to get me a spot in the program.

What is everyone elses GPA? I heard its lower for the Spring.

Can you really trade?

Oh heck, I dunno. You might be able too.. I was just being tongue-in-cheek (however if you do and I do.. we'll go to Administration and find out if we can trade if you want :sneaky:)!

Hello All,

I cant believe its already been 3 month since we started our HCC Nursing Spring 2014 chat. The Summer semester is finaly coming to an end, "THANK YOU GOD" Im so tired and need a break. Im taking 12 credits this summer semester all while working FULL TIME 50+ hours a week, I wont do that again!. I hope the next 3 month go by just as fast. Im actualy looking forward to the Fall semester since my class load will be limited to only 2 classes (CHEM & Nutrition). That will allow me more time to relax and spend time with my family before all hell breaks loose in January. What are you guys doing this FAll semester?

I hear you, FX, with all the work and school. It's rough, but I'm sure you'll make it through with flying colors. Just taking one class this summer thank God, but I've done the last three summers like that -- and it does extract quite the toll mentally and emotionally.

Fall for me is my capstone class (IDS), Organic Chemistry II w/ lab, an Ethics course, Yoga (I'll need it), and that stupid CGS-1000 "Intro to Computers" class. Most is online, so I'm looking forward to not have to drive 60 miles one way to class everyday again.

Enjoy Nutrition.. that was a fun class for me. I had a great professor and actually learned quite a bit; I was worried that the class was going to be boring (food? really? How exciting can that be?) but it wasn't all that bad.

If I can make it through this next month until the "decision" arrives, I'll count my blessings and be thankful. :wacky:

How is everyone holding up?

Well guys we are officially in August and fall classes start in about two weeks,I'm looking forward to my classes keeping me busy. I'm taking human nutrition, human development, chemistry and Latin American humanities.

I am taking Statistics, Pharmacology and Medical Terminology

I liked statistics,I took a 6 week course this summer and got an A. I think you'll enjoy it:-)

This fall I will be taking Psychology, Stats, Religion and Composition II. Does anybody has a plan "B" just in case ?? Does anybody applied to more than one school?

I'm leaving it in God's hands. I'm praying my 4.0 gets me in because I worked very hard to get it and on that note I haven't applied anywhere else. Honestly I don't want to go anywhere else until I'm done at HCC and then ill go to USF.

I applied to Galen, HCC, SPC, EAYL, and there is an Christian College in my area too... Either way, I only have a 3.7 GPA (which makes me sad) but I need to ensure this happens this Spring. No matter where I am.

Wow it's finally August!

USF was my first choice and unfortunately was not accepted. I applied to HCC and South University. Has anybody heard anything about South? I'm nervous and not sure, but I need to get something going by spring as well.
