Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Hello,

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

Thanks!

Also see mrs Richey as often as you can to review exams and for general help. She makes herself very available in the hours after class. Just let her have a lunch break first after having lectured for 3 hours !

Thank you so much for the pointers! you have given me and as well as others hope for NP1. And best wishes to what you plan on doing! :)

Brian thanks for the heads up and good luck with whatever you decide to do. Your email helped me, after I saw all the powerpoints from Ms Richey, I got a little nervous but she seems very nice.

For those at PC Days, we have our calendar up - in which she has posted the chapters we will be doing on the days we have class. This week upcoming week is 29, 27 & 28. :)

Just wanted to wish you guy's good luck. I know you guys nust be exicted to start the program after a long wait. Im part of the Spring 2014 class and we are all waiting for the acceptance notices to be mailed out in the next couple weeks. If all goes well i will meet some of you guys next semester. Have fun and stop by the Spring 2014 chat and let us know how things are going for you.

And so we begin. Best wishes to everyone as they begin the program. :yeah:

The Meeting today is at 10am. The FB event has a start time of 11am, but this is a mistake...it begins at 10am.

See you all there!!!

Hey no problem, I have actually returned to my previous major of finance/accounting. Nursing was just WAY wrong for me and am much better suited behind a desk with my head in a spreadsheet than doing the nursing thing. I felt like I didn't fit in with it all and my classmates, who are all going to be great nurses, were really into it and I never got into it like they did. Overall though, it was an experience that taught me a lot about myself and the direction I want to take my life and an appreciation at what nurses actually do. I work with them at the hospital I work at and seeing things from their perspective is helpful in relating to them. Now I just have to get my life back on track to how it was before. I did give it an honest try and a semester (I wanted to quit the first week of clinical actually). It isn't a profession that's for everyone. The nurse's I know REALLY LOVE nursing though. So good luck because I know a lot of you start tomorrow. Good luck and tell Mrs.Richey I said hi! She really is a great teacher who cares a lot about your success. She is dedicated and makes herself very available to you. You'll be glad you had her for those who do. I'll be around to help if you have any questions about what to expect during NP 1!

I have a question for anyone on this thread. why have your post stopped? It seems like in all the threads as soon as class starts no one write on the threads anymore. Is class that busy? has everyone lost interest in all nurses? ill be applying to the program this may.

I think they are too busy to post, and they can see each other/spend lots of time with teach other. There will be no need to speak on the forum after that. =)

I attend HCC for pre reqs for nursing and I can tell you this is the first time I've been on here since the semester started...and I normally frequent the site daily. I'm scheduled for 13 credits this semester and I'm so busy with studying. Got 5 chapters to go over before school on Tuesday!! Probably the same if not more for them I'd imagine.
