Hillsborough Community College RN program fall 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello,

I plan to attend to HCC's 2013 fall evening nursing program (applying in Jan). I am curious to see what people people's GPA is going in. I hear spring's is lower than fall's.

Thanks!

Attention Plant City Days Students:

For those of you planning to attend the NSNA meeting on Monday, 8/19, we are going to do a little meet and greet in front of the bookstore prior to the meeting. Directly following the meeting, we are planning to go the Library to do a study/review session for the first 3 chapters that were assigned. The NSNA meeting will probably be over around lunchtime, so you may want to pack a lunch.

Let me know if you are interested!!!

DM mornings Ms. Richey has posted the syllabus, most of the info is there

I will be there ;) Im excited to meet my classmates and review for a good head start.

Have you been assigned to cover any material before class on Monday?

Just thought of something...Do we have to purchase the Nursing Student Handbook at the Bookstore? I thought I read or heard something about that somewhere. Can't we just print it off the website? Why would we need to buy it?

Also, when do we have to pay the "lab fee"? I have that in my notes from orientation. And, is it through Elsevier or HCC?

...just trying to tie up loose ends here...I may be totally off on some of this...I cannot remember every detail of every little thing that was addressed, and some of my notes are vague.

About your Clinical Calculations Test.

I took NP1 last semester and I wanted to let you guys know one important hint about the test. Remember to write out Amount, Route, and Frequency EVERY TIME. You'll get marked off for not doing it. Just don't forget that and you'll be fine. Good Luck to you all. Hope you have a good semester and great career in nursing!

Thanks for the helpful hint. We appreciate any help we can get.

Hey guys. I have a question regarding the schedule. Are we supposed to attend to clinicals next (Tue or Wed) even before meeting the teacher for the first time in lecture. I know for the first month we will have clinicals at school but Im not sure if there will be a clinical day on the very first week of school. Please help.

Not sure which campus your at. PC Days has clinicals on Thursdays for the 1st 3 weeks of school...in the lab.

Classes start soon, and I'm super nervous. Are we suppose to show up for tuesday clinicals in the stimulation labs (DM Mornings)? I am getting mixed comments... And are we suppose to know all 9 chapters of the clinical book down pact? I know the gist of it, and worrying... Thanks!

PC days our clinical assignments are posted in Blackboard.

I'm LRMC Thursday

Ieatbamboo, I am also in DM mornings And feel the same way. We do have lab on aug 20 Tuesday 6:30 - 5:00. I saw the 14 PowerPoints and almost freaked out. For awhile I seriously doubted even going through with it. But all we can do is take it slide by slide, math calc by math calc. I'm sure they don't expect us to know everything. We will learn as we go. Good luck and see u Tuesday
