Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011

U.S.A. Florida

Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.

I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?

What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?

Hi Psstoops,

I didn't turn my ID in either. I read over everything again and I think the ID request was listed under the transitional program and it was a request for your LPN ID. I didn't see anything else asking for an ID but I could have missed it completely! And I'm like you, I wake up in the middle of the night thinking I forgot to turn something in even though I looked over my app at least a dozen times!

If anyone knows anything more about ID requirements please let us know.

Oh, and sorry but I have no idea about any easier higher math classes. I would suggest talking with an adviser, but you still might not get the insight you want. Maybe you could talk to someone in the Learning commons tutoring center? I don't have any personal experience to know if they are truly helpful, but if they're really helping students get through math courses, they may know which ones are easier to handle.

I also didn't include my id. The way I took the wording was you needed to include a copy of any certifications or licenses that you already had. Not a driver's license/ID card.

Maybe you guys are right. I just included more than I needed to. I thought I saw it listed, but it's possible I read it wrong and it's only for transitional. I will look again later and let you know. If you want to be sure tho, maybe email someone in nursing department.

I think you're right Sandm55 that it's never a bad thing to have more then they asked for. A few months ago I read over everything and read that the transition program applicants would have to have proof of the CPR course in their application package. Well, I didn't realize that I was reading the info under the transition program and went and took the course. When I read back over it again, I was scratching my head and wondering why I thought I had to have the course done prior to applying. :lol2:

Once I figured out what I had done, I laughed at myself but added a copy of the certificate anyway! I figure they can't mark you off for too much info.

I have also taken a free CPR/first aid course and I included a copy too but realized it's only for transitional students. It didn't hurt anything to include it though. They received all of my documents and didn't complain about anything so it's all good. Has anyone ever taken trigonometry or calculus? If so, which do you think is more challenging?

Hi Sandm55 and Psstoops

Thank you very much for your help. I drop off my application on wednesday, now i just going to cross my fingers and pray a lot. I am hoping for the best and thinking positive. I am very ancious, checking my email every day.:uhoh3:
