Hey y'all I was wondering who all has gotten the Hep B booster and a titer drawn. How long did you wait to get a titer drawn and did it work (bring you up enough quantitative to be considered immune).
I had the full series done when I was younger and my titer came back negative. I have to show immunity by the end of November so I don't have time to get another series. I went ahead and got the titer and plan to drawn again. I'm praying that it comes back positive so I don't have to reapply to get in the nursing program.. :/
I'm not sure how long to wait before I get my titer done. I've read online 6-8 weeks. A lady at my school said 30 days and Drs Care said 3 months.. I want to make sure I go at the correct time to boost up my chances of the booster working!
Thanks!!!

I had my hep b series about ten years ago, had the titer done for school and it was positive. I know with my school, if it's negative; you have to get the booster, then a titer
Later on. But as long as you get the booster before starting the program, they'll accept the titer after the program starts.
I asked if I could just prove that I am starting a new series and they said no. I have to prove immunity before I can start so I'm praying the booster works

I had to get the titer 30 days post. But we also had the right to refuse the HepB. No refusal on MMR or Varicella

There is a fast track option for Hepatitis B if the booster doesn't work. You just have look it up and find in your area. I have a friend who did all 3 shots in a week or two. I can't remember how long it took exactly...but definitely within a couple of weeks.
wow I did not know about this!! Thank you for this information! I will be looking into this!

I am interested finding out more about this. Wil these doses be valid per CDC? Where exactly should I look for this (may come in handy)?

I would be very cautious of anything outside CDC recommendations.
check their website for a publication called "Hepatitis and Healthcare Personnel"
The only one I saw approved for accelerated administration is twinrx which is HepA & HepB combo.

We just have to have our first dose done by sept. I'm confused why you have to have a titer done if a doc signs off that he is immunizing you. That's all I have to do. I just had a titer drawn yesterday for Hep B. It take 48 hours for results and if I'm not immune just have to start the series.
I don't know anything about the fast track option except I have a friend who did this and was excepted into the radiology program at the school where I am starting nursing. She said the college accepted it, so maybe you can check with your college.
