Help To Interpret TEAS Score

I took my TEAS test today and I'm not sure what the school will use for entrance into the nursing program. Do they go by your adjusted composite score, rank, or all of the individual section scores? Do they go by the scores at the top of the score sheet? I have the following at the top of my sheet and individual scores and ranks for each section on the rest of the page. How do I interpret this? Thanks.

Adjusted Composite Score: 87.1%

Mean - National 70.8%

Mean - Program 72.6%

Percentile Rank - National - 96

Percentile Rank - Program - 96

It might depend on the school . . . I know the one I'm applying to takes the score from each of the four main areas, not the overall score at the top.

And congrats, you did well!

You did well! One of the schools I am applying to looks at the Composite Score. I got an 80.6

We had to score a minimum of 40% in each area....if we didn't we would be disqualified.

Thanks for the responses. I am just happy to be finished with the test. Hopefully, I will get in regardless of which scores they use. I scored the least on the Math section, so I'm a little nervous about that, but I guess I will just wait and see how things go. Someone told me that the school that I am applying to looks at the science score more than the math score. I hope that it is the case since I did great on that. I ran out of time on the math, and that is my absolute worst subject anyway. Good luck to both of you. Thanks again.

If you get 3 wrong on the reading and 7 wrong on the math is that good?

Can anyone tell me if using the McGraw-Hill Nursing Schools Entrance Exams study guide was helpful for preparaing for the teas? I am using it and I did not take a the teas as yet. Can anyone tell me what is a good study guide to buy?

Thank you so much!!!! Happy Holidays!

I am not accpeted as yet

Does anybody understand the chemistry part of the teas? Any helpful pointers in understanding the chemistry? I would love to hire a tutor but cannot afford one at this time. Does anyone know of any good sites that can help in chemistry?

I actually found the chemistry to be fairly simple. Understand the basics of the periodic table (Atomic Mass and Number and the proton, neutron, electron relation to the two.) Also understand basic bonding (ionic, covalent, and single, double, triple bonding.) Lastly, specific heat relations. I actually founds the chemistry to be the easiest. My trouble was with the life science and it was simply because I haven't seen it in years! The previous poster's website - chem4kids.com is very basic and very helpful as a reminder of what basic science looks like. We have all taken upper level science courses and sometimes forget how to look at something so simple. Just review and relax, you'll be fine! :)

Good Luck!
