Help To Interpret TEAS Score

Published

I took my TEAS test today and I'm not sure what the school will use for entrance into the nursing program. Do they go by your adjusted composite score, rank, or all of the individual section scores? Do they go by the scores at the top of the score sheet? I have the following at the top of my sheet and individual scores and ranks for each section on the rest of the page. How do I interpret this? Thanks.

Adjusted Composite Score: 87.1%

Mean - National 70.8%

Mean - Program 72.6%

Percentile Rank - National - 96

Percentile Rank - Program - 96

I actually found the chemistry to be fairly simple. Understand the basics of the periodic table (Atomic Mass and Number and the proton, neutron, electron relation to the two.) Also understand basic bonding (ionic, covalent, and single, double, triple bonding.) Lastly, specific heat relations. I actually founds the chemistry to be the easiest. My trouble was with the life science and it was simply because I haven't seen it in years! The previous poster's website - chem4kids.com is very basic and very helpful as a reminder of what basic science looks like. We have all taken upper level science courses and sometimes forget how to look at something so simple. Just review and relax, you'll be fine! :)

Good Luck!

The school I attend require you to score 50 on the teas...I scored 65.7.... 21 national and 16 program....can someone explain this to me...I also have atleast 39 points with CNA, phlebotomy, and Med tech. My school also goes on point for certain classes as well as certificates.

What types of certificates would be helpful?

Certifications like CNA, Phlebotomy, Med Tech, as well as CNA 2. Plus points for grades A's and B's for certain classes like A & P 1 and 2, Med Terminology, etc. Hopefully I have enough points to go with my score. I have like 36 -40 points to go with the 65 I got on the Teas...We only have to get 50 to be in the running.
