I have been accepted to Kennesaw State University (GA) accel program for fall 2011. The condition is completing A/P II w/ lab. I have been out of school for three years. I grad from Eastern KY University in 2003; then I completed all didactic course work in a pharmacy school before withdrawing three years ago. I honestly did not think I would get accepted this fall because I was informed around Feb. this year I needed five courses to be eligible for fall admission. But, God, saw things different and now-after I was actually admitted-I found out I need only A/P II and Dev Psych. My problem lies in the fact that every institution I try and sign up for, I am a new student and these courses are filled. Does anybody have any advice or can you point me in the right direction? I am in a bit of a bind and I could really use some help. Thanks.

Northeast Texas Community College in East Texas offers an online A&P II class this Summer I, w/lab, for out of state residents at $615 for 4 semester hours. There are 6 seats currently available for the class, so if your interested you might hurry to get in. I just took it this Spring and it's completely online. Intro to Psych is also offered online Summer I, and II Good luck!

Hi, i go to kennesaw state university. Our anatomy courses fill up fast. You must complete allyour prereqs before entering nursing or they will pull you from the program. You need to talk to the biology department and tell them your situation that you have already been accepted and MUST take A&P2 over the summer or you will have to forfeit your spot fot the fall...hopefully someone in the department is kind and understanding. You will also have to do the same for developmental psych by going to the psychology department asking for an override. If you cant complete the two courses talk to Fran Herzig in the nursing department, shes an advisor. And tell her to place you into the Spring 2012 semester to start nursing school, you may have to reapply or reinterview but hopefully you can get placed into those classes for the summer. Itll be tough taking anatomy over the summer but i can definitely see that sacrificing and studying for 8 weeks versus 16 to begin nursing you are already accepted as worth it. Good Luck.

Go to the professor who teaches the class and ask them to override the system by manually putting you in. It couldn't hurt to ask. Explain your situation.

Check out Straighterline's A&P II, you can take it with our without lab. I took it without lab in 4 days. If you sign up for the monthly plan it'll only cost you 139.00.

I agree that you might get help by talking to someone in the nursing college. There are always exceptions.

Whatever class that you decide to take, please make sure that it will transfer to your current University. I would be so mad if I forked out 700 dollars, and I couldn't use it. Best would be to talk to the chair of the department, and ask for special consideration.

Ask the school what online course they would recognize. Many schools have online versions of courses.

When classes are full, check daily to see if the waiting list opens up. I have wiggled my way into more than one class with this method.
Speak with the teachers and have a color copy of your letter of acceptance handy to show them. They may take pity on you.
I recently made an appointment with a school counselor and brought my letter of acceptance. I was immediately placed at the front of the line for registration. I was ahead of some students who were considered priority registrants.
I also made a backup plan. I asked the university I am transferring to if they could squeeze me in for my prereq, prior to my start date in the fall. It was no problem. They changed my entry date to the summer, and I quickly got into a class there. I had to adjust some FAFSA info, but that was easy.
Get creative. A few years ago, I needed a class that was full. The professor had a set number of people he would accept from the wait list. I didn't make it in. I showed up for a few classes. I let him know how much I wanted to be in his class. I told him I could just audit, and didn't expect credit. He rolled his eyes and said, "Oh, fine. You're in." I suppose there is a fine line between determination and stalking. He didn't call security, so I guess I was okay.

Amarillo College does online A & P. You may want to see if you can get in... http://www.actx.edu I believe Ocean College also does it, as well as Rio Salado (Although Rio wants prereq's done, while Amarillo doesn't).
Yes do CHECK EVERYDAY some people may drop the course for the summe i would check at least once a day and then check ocessivelvy during drop add. And when the semester starts on June 2nd....also if it help K LaserHansen or Dr. Jones. Are awesome instructors for that course. See if you can get into their section, as far as taking an online anatomy from somewhere else, I cant tell you if its a good idea or not.

I have not read through all of the posts, so forgive me if I am giving already supplied information.
You can easily place out of Dev Psych. I did it-just ask your school what the policy is for taking an exam to place out of the required class. I am reaching WAAAAYYY back into my memory bank, and if I remember correctly, all I had to do was contact my nursing school to explain what I wanted to do, and they sent me to a credentialed testing center to take the exam for Dev Psych. I passed. It will save you some time.
Hope this helps to a degree.
