what have you heard about LIU nursing program?

I've never really heard much about it, but I have heard that LIU in itself is a good school?? is this true? please tell me what you know about the nursing program. how difficult is it to get into?

i actually graduate from liu university tommorow i passed my hesi exit exam 908 we need 900 to get out . half of my class have to come back in august to take another exam. this school is so hard no social life. there is literally always something new with this school, and i am actually in shock. i thought i was not going to survive this program, but the lord is great. i wish everyone the best. congrats to the class of 2011:yeah:

i don't know who told you that liu has a bad reputation we have the highest nclex passing rate we beat columbia university and nyu. hospitals love to hire liu grads we are not baby in this program it is 100% tough no playing games. don't think they are going to help you with medmath only your first semester after that medmath get's complicated. many get in liu nursing few survive!!!!!!

Hello, yes, I have applied to the Accelerated BSN at LIU. and yes you have to take the hesi A2. I took mines today and passed!!! I only had 3 hours of sleep, craming it at Hunter college Library...whom i give thanks for all the free sweet treats and staying open for 24hours :cheers: !!! Now I can relax and see advisement Monday morning and I'm on ready for the 15month ride!!

I took a chance and left a 2 yr nursing program, where I was in my 3rd semester to attempt this program! SO LONG BMCC ASN...I'VE MOVED TO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS!!! YES

UPDATE: Im still waiting for info from the LIU RN-BSN program as to how many credits I will need (exactly). Im so frustrated, I hate to pester but I deserve to know where I stand so I can plan accordingly, Ive already been admitted and such, I dont understand what the wait is for, they can at least be up front about it.

you have to go to speak to nursing advisor on the 4th floor in the health blding and explain your situation. You information is probably sitting in limbo between LIU's new and old systems. That was the hold up for me. I was already accepted in the program, but they couldnt find my bsn in the new system....guess where it was:eek: in the old system! What's so ridiculous about it...I got my BS from LIU... crazy!

Going forward, I was sent back and forth between LIU nursing advisement and admissions. Finally, after a little agression...I scheduled for the hesi a2 test (took and Passed it today!!!) Since then I have been admitted into the nursing accelerated program and Monday I get my class schedule ! Don't give up, show them that you are a determined to be a part of their nursing program! good luck!!!

I was notified today that I was accepted into the accelerated nursing program but need to take the HESI exam still. Does anyone know how often it is offered and how many times you can take it?

Well, im sure by now you know your answer to the above question. I hope by now you have taken the hesi a2. I took and passed mines today. I have been accepted into the accelerated class as well start in June 2011! I see advisement Monday morning and I guess all i have left to say is let the gammmmes begin!

i took the hesi today at liu. how did you find out your scores? i created a user on the evolve website but i have no tests and i tried to link a test with the hesi id # they gave us during exam however idk what the "department id#" is? thanks!

ok, first you will receive an email you that your results are in. i finished the test at approx. 1pm the results were emailed to me at 4:47pm the same day!! ok, follow the instructions below, i have included the school id as well. good luck! let me know how did! im sure you did fine....congrats in advance

future nurse 2011 is right. I never heard of LIU having a bad reputation. I give you praise :bowingpur: for getting thru the program. That seems to be the major line that im hearing...many get in, but few survive! Im in the class starting next month. I think Im ready once again to give my life up for my future....wish me luck and stay in contact...I may need some support! and CONGRATS ON YOUR RECENT GRADUATION!!!!

Yay finally got my scores for the HESI- I passed so i'm officially in. For those of you in the accelerated program when is the orientation??? I heard it was the 26th but haven't heard anything since?
