This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.
It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!
I don't think it would really be bad to have a "cheat" day. At least it would keep one from going crazy.
I agree, otherwise, I'd go insane and really would give up... However, it scares me to have them available to me because my self-control is still a little wobbly. I'm trying, though, it's just so horribly hard. *sigh*
My "cheat days" sometimes, more often than not, spiral out of control like a junkie on a binge, so I have to be careful. Deprivation doesn't work well with me either because I only want the junk more. There's a thing called balance and control that I haven't mastered yet. :)
That's exactly my problem, Tweety. I feel so ridiculous not being able to stop when I need to. I hate that food wins most of the time. *sigh*

Yes and no, usually my cheat days become, hmm, what else can I eat that I've been craving for so long ... and then all of a sudden I need to have them all before I can "be good again" lol... fortunately my health is more valuable than that list (I didn't even "go there" this time - it was just a going away party for someone the first day - so I had cake - and the second day I can't even remember what it was - got right back on the wagon...)

EXACTLY.
when you figure it out, let me know, Tweety, ok?
cheat days....ohh, i used to have those. i would deprive myself all week & then become pig girl for a day...
kind of felt a bit bipolar.
now i have "reward evening" every week i have this time when we go out & i chill.
it's dinner out (nothing huge, fattening, or crazy, but i don't cook), a glass or 2 of wine & then dessert at the local ice cream parlor - moose tracks!!!!
this is enough of a reward.
oh, & for the daily chocolate fix - i've got the chocolate chips mixed into my nut & seed snack mix - otherwise i'd be buying at least 2 candy bars every day!!
a girl's gotta have chocolate!!!

Thanks Chrissy, I need all the motivation I can get! Good luck to you. Two minutes is better than zero minutes. Start with little changes and build up, maybe we can build some consistency that way. :)
