The whipped cream was for a chocolate or sweet craving while on a low carb diet. Not for a meal.Very hard when watching carbs to find something to satisfy a sweet tooth. I also put the whipped cream on zero carb Jello.
And oatmeal, raisins, fresh fruit are off limits for the first two weeks.
It helps to have whipped cream in the fridge.
i know what you're saying.
i don't believe in diets, or following anything so regimented.
i need to be able to make educated choices and eat what feels good to me and my body.
that way, it becomes a lifestyle.
i try to stay away from empty calories...
if anything, i'm seeking the most nutrient dense foods...
the ones packed w/oomph.
i like to know why i'm eating what, and also want to know it's being metabolized vs being converted/stored into fat cells.
i love whipped cream too.

I needed to kick start my body (granted - a g a i n!)
Considering I've gained back weight I've lost on diets - I agree with you.
However, I did eat healthy . . . I just ate too much of the healthy stuff. Too many calories = too many calories.
So, if I do something "regimented" for awhile . .. . .maybe I can do it this time for good.
I'm munching on raw almonds right now - yummy.

I agree - who eats instant oatmeal and WHY??? steph
I buy sugar-free maple flavored instant oatmeal so I can have it at work for a mid-morning snack on the run. It's quick and portable. Our coffee machine has that little spout for hot water - mix it in coffee cup and voila! I can scarf it while I do my morning charting. Much better than the donut/junk food options usually available at work. Will sometims add a few chopped pecans for the crunch factor. It really helps tide me over until 'lunch' (usually 1-3 pm, 12 hour shfits).
Weather is cooler today, a lot more reasonable - so I got out on the bike for 30 min. Going for a walk with DH after dinner. (No dog, tho - he's too old and can hardly move the next day, poor thing!)

I just like oatmeal where you can see the oats. Instant is too mushy.
But, whatever works for each of us.

A funny thing . .. .on the low carb diet if you crave something sweet you can use whipped cream as a snack . . . very low carb and just sweet enough to help. I use it in my coffee in the morning . .. . I have to admit it feels decadent to walk over here to the computer with a cup of coffee covered in whipped cream.steph
I bought a tub of cool whip, I also have sugar free jello, and canned fruit in pear juice to satisfy the cravings. And the good think is I won't have to use a carb choice....lol
for snack I love that I can have a piece of ham or turkey I put a little piece of lf cheese and a dill pickle and roll it up. It is very good.

which low carb are you following. I know some of them vary a bit. If you like peppermint let me know I have a recipe for pepermint cocoa that look really good. Can't wait for the cool weather to get here to try it out.
I did good eating healthy. I worked an extra four hours today so knowing this I went and got some beans and rice and a salad for lunch and has the slim fast around 5pm. No way I was going to make it from a SlimFast lunch to dinner after working a 12 hour shift.
I'll have my last SlimFast lunch tomorrow and hopefully will see at least 2 pounds off this week.
lvnandmom, those kinds of things are my downfall. Tempations are everywhere at work. But I find if I stay away from that first nibble I'm ok. If I have one, then I want another, and another........then something else and so it goes. I especially eat like that when I'm stressed, which is most days at work. LOL No self-restraint.
