This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.
It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!
Good job with the weight loss lvnandmom!!! Hopefully one day won't set you back too much. I'm having friends over for dinner and while it's mostly good food, boneless chicken breasts.......I have to serve a dessert, or I would be a bad host. LOL
Mmmm. Can we come? lol! Desert doesn't have to be totally decadent (unless you prefer it that way...). Plenty of really tasty options that involved fresh berries with various add ons.
Have a marvelous dinner party!
I'm so happy - didn't splurge on ANY junk food today at work! I was inspired by the fact I have a doctor's appt. tomorrow and will be expected to get on the scale, lol!
Maybe I need some sort of weight management version of AA - 90 meetings in 90 days, a sponsor to be accountable to, yada yada... Nah. Not sure I'm that motivated, frankly!!!
Bike ride in the morning!!
Tanerine pie and key lime pie? Or tangerinekeylime pie? Both sound yummy!!!! So does the carrot cake!!!
Two different pies. The tangerine pie was made just like the key lime but used tangerine juice. It was very good. (They sold them in half-pies). I sent all the leftover sweets home with the guests.
I've got a doc appointment tomorrow, too, Blue, but I am exercising (ha ha) my right to refuse treatment and not step on the scale, LOL.
I went hiking with the kids a couple of times last week. We don't necessarily go very far--we can only go as far as I can carry my little one --but I guess it's still a pleasant diversion, if not much of a workout.
I've heard that "Overeaters Anonymous" has the accountability idea.
There is a chapter here in my valley . . . .
hmmmm . . . . .
Well, I haven't stepped on a scale but I know I was creeping towards the high end of a certain number and now I'm at the low end of that number.
Pants are not as tight. Tummy roll is not as big.
Ketone sticks are still purple . . . .(still in ketosis).
I made "Chicken Saute" last night (chicken in olive oil with mushrooms and white wine). I love that dish over rice . . . . but left out the rice. Still was good.

((((((((((( Y'all))))))))))
It's nice hearing how you guys are doing!
I AM wonderin if there is such thing as a low carb tangerine pie!!!! YEEPS that sounds good! lol!
Still doing all right in the food department, not so hot in the exercise dept but BOY YOU SHOULD SEE ME AT WORK! It is ALL physical (pant pant pant!) I would love for there to be such thing as a calorimeter to see how much I burn off!
Steph, how do you guys (gals) do no carbs? I get awfully cranky. I'm doing all right with eating healthier carbs--I prefer wheat bread and brown rice--but I really do need to stop with the white sugar/flour. A friend of mine makes whole wheat cookies, but I'm not there yet...
Zoe, I always wondered how many calories I burned when I was working the floor. There were a lot of days I spent the whole day running. That has to count for something; once I started working in the NICU, I had a hard time getting used to sitting/standing. It was a big switch. Hey, and if you find that recipe for low carb pie (and it tastes good ) pass it on

Succombed to DH's suggestion for chinese food last night. Mmmmm. So - now I'm heading out to mow the lawn - good for about 45 min. of walking/pushing mower. Lawn is on a bit of a slope, so I usually work up a good sweat! Gotta work off those cheese wontons...
