Hi guys!

Thanks for asking, ER, I'm fine. Lots going on here this week. DH is inverviewing in a week for a job that, should it come through, will have us needing to sell the house and move long distance. It will be great, something we are both looking forward to, but the next about 4 months will be a LOT of work. And I start school at the end of April. And the woman who was supposed to be replacing me at work so I could cut my hours down to something more manageable with school isn't coming any more (family emergency at home, I don't blame her a bit and would be surprised if she DID come). Just a lotta stuff that will all shake out eventually but was weighing a little heavy on me for a few days.

Good news, I have pressed on in the diet/exercise department. We went for a good hike yesterday. Yard work this afternoon to whack back the weeds, pick up dog deposits, etc. and a yoga tape after will be my exercise for the day. I went back to the South Beach references and had to do a little tuning up on what I've been eating, seems to be helping. I had gotten a bit heavy in the carb department. Whole grain or not, I can't eat them 3 meals a day or the weight loss grinds to a complete halt.

Zoe, you crack me up!!!!!!! I was snorting when I read your post about the towel rack!

Hiker, Tweety, Sarah, and anyone else I'm forgetting, hope you are all having a good weekend!!!!

Countdown to Vega$ - 2 weeks, 2 days......

Nice ta see ya, just don't work too hard (yoga AND dog poo?)

It is such a glorious day here. We went to the river, not up as much as I would have expected, but running fast, gonna take a dogs for a swim later today, but ZOE...I saw your turkey again, it had to be the same one, I had to wait for it to finish crossing the road. When we left for our drive, we saw nine deer at the side of the road, we paused to watch them..............am much more relaxed this afternoon.

I'm having a good weekend at work!

For real? I mean, good days DO happen at work or we all would have changed careers a long time ago. I'm really not sure which way to read this post from you, Tweetster! Either way, I hope you have an even better day when you get home! :lol2:

Tweety, I hope your being sincere about enjoying yourself. There is nothing worse than a bad weekend at work. I usually work every weekend. Took a mental health break this weekend.

Just back from taking the dogs to the river.....boy do they love swimming.....it is still so cold

ertravel, I was sincere about having a good day, but "enjoying" it might be a stretch. LOL

I took yesterday off for a wedding I didn't go to, so the weekend was only one day. It was really a good day. Busy, but good.

I actually like busy better than "Q", it makes the shift go by faster

Greetings!

I'm back after a long absence, but this time with company--I'm dragging my DH and DS.

That's because DH had an MI. Scared us all because he's not even 50 yet. Needless to say, we're all pretty highly motivated to get the risk factors under control.

He's quitting smoking and going on a heart-healthy diet, as he's overweight. So DS and I decided that we could all stand to eat healthier and lose a few hundred pounds between the three of us, so we're all doing it.

So, good news is, no more arguments in the kitchen about what to eat. Empty-calorie snacks have been banned from the house. No more dining out, even at work.

I asked DH if he wanted to join WW, but he said no, so we're just eliminating obviously fattening foods and he's using the diet guide they gave him in the hospital.

Tonight we had a lean piece of pork loin, which I flavored with a wee bit of Szechuan sauce, and then chilled some blanched fresh green beans with fat-free Italian dressing.

We're not actually keeping track of calories, but I know he's losing. And we're going for walks each day also.

Angie, I read about him in your blog. I'm sorry to hear that. Dad had a heart attack and it was a wake up call for him as well. That was about ten years ago and he's fine now. He's in his 70s and is a basketball referee at high school games, running up and downt he court.

Good luck to you as well.
