ha ha i feel ya woman. actually i was 4'10 1/2 " at 25 y.o. so i could be less than even that. as to what i put down for the wt? (schnork... again, laughing thru my nose...)

i really think they just want you to estimate. if it really mattered, they'd ask to see a doctor's note. that said, i'd still rather not have the number i decided to go with up for personal scrutiny by the guy on the other end of the driver's license counter.

yes, an advantage to being short and living alone! is not being able to see the dust on top of the fridge ...

unfortunately, it's not always dust--sometimes he hides the good cookies up there, too ;)

btw i was up on my skates again today, did a lot better, one more time in the house and i will go outside with them. i dream of being able to skate on them to my counseling appt someday soon - my counselor is always trying to get me to exercise and get those endorphins going. but maybe not, if he sees me on skates and in my "gear" i bet he'll be on the phone to the white coats, ha ha ha!

i think i may have written my responses in the middle of your quote. just read between the lines, i guess :)

besides, an inpatient stay with the white coats may be kind of a vacation. take a nap, get in touch with your real feelings, a little pet therapy maybe, sign up for a relaxing massage and facial . . . i think i just segued into a spa trip, instead. . .

you're funny. i can see you skating from counter to table, maybe down the hall to do a little vacuuming. it's like you're a carhop

when you short people talk about not seeing the dust, etc...i quit feeling sorry for ya......i see everything and therefore must clean everything......lol

my daughter, besides being 5" even, looks 13. she is really 24 and has two kids and i know what people are thinking when they see her out with her kids.........again lmao.

zoe i think we should get to see a pic of you on skates.

sarah......did you get the tornadoes? my dad and i watched the one in oklahoma yesterday, then my sister came home and yelled at me for not throwing my daddy in the closet or bathtub.........the image of me wrestling daddy cracks me up.

i finally got ahold of my best friend ever, and she and i met last night. it was wonderful......she and i will go months without seeing each other and when we connect it is like no time has passed. we have been friends our entire lives.....which is a long time......speaking with her has helped me get out of my funk and motivate me to do better.

i hope everyone has a wonderful day, i am headed for a nap.......work tonight........a little worried about what the temp at work will be, but will hold my head up and stand my ground

when i first got married (at age twenty) my husband made me wait in the car when he registered us at hotels when we travelled. he was afraid someone would turn him in for "travelling" with a child. i seem to have outgrown that stage, unfortunately, lol.

i'm glad you had a good time with your friend. amazing how quickly you catch up. kind of like coming home.

good for you standing up for you, your license, the patients and nursing in general. nursing is a field where standards have to be met. i can't imagine having a family member being taken care of by your coworker. i'm just sorry you're stuck in the middle.

Hi everyone!

Sarah - SOOOO glad to hear you are okay! 40 miles away is close enough when it comes to tornadoes. We had a couple pass that close last week too. It was out in the middle of no where, thankfully. Good for you and your neighbors for 'rising to the occassion'!

Having a pretty good week this week overall. One little slip at an open house (mmmmmm, chocolate chip coconut dessert bars....), but plenty of trips to Curves, a few sessions with the Yoga tape, regular water, fruit & veggies.... No change on the scale but I'm feeling good so that's fine.

Off to dinner, a salad with grilled chicken is in my future!

I'm glad Sarah's OK, too. I hate tornadoes. My mom grew up in the midwest and the town she grew up in was destroyed by a tornado. Scary.

Good job, Blue. Not much of a slip with your cookie bar (which sound well-worth it, BTW). You want to be my personal trainer? It sounds like things have jelled (sp?) for you. :smiley_aa

i remember working one nite and this patient came up and said "who is this little girl?" i was obviously wearing my whites ... and the woman was not delusional, so ....

zoe i think we should get to see a pic of you on skates.

um, i think not. lol

all of our little towns are really coming together to gather supplies, clothes, toys, money, whatever for the survivors. the lady that was killed left behind two little kids, one of which was badly injured & is still hospitalized, so that is a very sad situation. i plan on going through all my kids's toys & clothes after clinicals this weekend to donate to the town.

sarah that's awesome what you guys are doing!

i know the tornado we saw was approx. one to two miles away, very close

yikes!

nope, mine are gone long before they land on top of the fridge ha ha

it's not so bad. rofl! and having someone cook and clean up for you ... and who is paid to listen to you ramble on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on on and on and on and on ...

exactly right. the worst part was sitting on the toilet which was of course 3" lower than where i am used to - and then, how do you stand up without your feet coming out from under you...

omg........lmao.........had not even thought about that.

my dtr came to the hospital to have dinner with me.....did really well, salad with one piece of chicken cut up into it.....and my friend i reconnected with works at curves, so more incentive to go work out.

good morning to all and hope you all have a wonderful day.

which curves? the one you go to?

glad i was able to entertain you (rolling my eyes) i think it took me 3 min. to figure out how to stand up. the towel rack that was in front of me already is useless, pulls out of the wall easily ... i had nothing to grab onto! it was a matter of body mechanics and prayer ...

i could just see them finding me the next day in a pool of blood (because i'm not wearing a helmet inside the house!), a big crack in the porcelain god-man, pants around my ankles, roller blades on... they already think i'm crazy!!!!

The builders didn't take this into account when building your place? :lol2: What were they thinking???

Now that picture is worth a thousand words :roll They don't seem to have a smiley for this, either. I'll have to contact one of the mods ;)

Now this potential incident has been published, the helmet manufacturers will add, "Helmets must be worn in the house. We do not advocate the use of our product near the commode."

I'm backtracking here a bit ;) but I'm in school and working and if there's dust around, it's not bothering me a bit :lol2: I keep thinking I need to get on things, but as my 2 yo says when I ask him if he wants to take a bath "Maybe tomorrow, maybe tonight."

Sounds like a good title for a kids' book! that's cute!

Hiker, I now subscribe to your sons theory of cleaning.......maybe tomorrow, maybe tonight.......It has taken me a while to see that there is more to life than a clean house.......now, I don't let it get filthy, but I prefer to play with the grandkids than clean. My dh and I moved to the country to make things simpler for us, but I find myself not enjoying the simple life, because of all the stuff I have to do......fixin to start say maybe tomorrow, maybe tonight.......and realize nothing bad happened by doing something else.

(its funny, my dh and I just talked about this last night)

Zoe.....have fun but don't hurt yourself. You have such a way with word, you paint such a vivid picture......I am going to wake dh up laughing......

Blue.....were are you and are you okay? Haven't seen you for a bit

To everyone...have a wonderful day, I am going to enjoy my day off........thinking of driving around, go see how full the river is since it rained, try to find some wild turkeys, sit and watch the bats after dark........

Hi guys!

Thanks for asking, ER, I'm fine. Lots going on here this week. DH is inverviewing in a week for a job that, should it come through, will have us needing to sell the house and move long distance. It will be great, something we are both looking forward to, but the next about 4 months will be a LOT of work. And I start school at the end of April. And the woman who was supposed to be replacing me at work so I could cut my hours down to something more manageable with school isn't coming any more (family emergency at home, I don't blame her a bit and would be surprised if she DID come). Just a lotta stuff that will all shake out eventually but was weighing a little heavy on me for a few days.

Good news, I have pressed on in the diet/exercise department. We went for a good hike yesterday. Yard work this afternoon to whack back the weeds, pick up dog deposits, etc. and a yoga tape after will be my exercise for the day. I went back to the South Beach references and had to do a little tuning up on what I've been eating, seems to be helping. I had gotten a bit heavy in the carb department. Whole grain or not, I can't eat them 3 meals a day or the weight loss grinds to a complete halt.

Zoe, you crack me up!!!!!!! I was snorting when I read your post about the towel rack!

Hiker, Tweety, Sarah, and anyone else I'm forgetting, hope you are all having a good weekend!!!!

Countdown to Vega$ - 2 weeks, 2 days......
