Ok folks, time has come to Start anew.......over 1000 posts means LOTS of bandwidth use here at allnurses.com. So I have been asked to remedy the situation.....
Anyhow, I have enjoyed so much your sharing, help and support here on the Healthier Living Thread....let's keep it up!!!!!:)
QOD: What is your favorite "old" or "new" healthy food/recipe? Care to share?
I have "rediscovered" oatmeal. Yep old fashioned good ole Quaker Oats-----the slow cooked kind.....with raisins, a bit of cinnamon and some Splenda.....YUMMY. Eating this as my dh's cholesterol and lipid counts were very high---trying to clean up my own dietary practices to help him with his....anyhow.....
Anyone else? As you change/grow/develop new tastes, what are your "old" or "new" healthier-choice favorites??? Care to share????
Hi guys! Remember we have to make time for exercise now or we're going to have to find time to be sick later in life. Get busy!!!!
That said, I slept through my yoga class. I got up real early, worked on a paper for school and intended on going to yoga at 9AM. But I went back to bed at 7AM after getting up at 4:30AM and asleep I went until 9:30.
Lack of sleep and sleep disturbances, either on my own, or by restless dogs, or both is probably one of my biggest health issues right now. Not sure what to do with that.
I got a new book http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060755474/qid=1139762698/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/103-5378560-8007865?s=books&v=glance&n=283155
It's an update on the book I mentioned a while back. I haven't read much, but it's good. Dark chocolate is now listend as a Superfood!
hey all. ok been working a lot this week and only made it to curves once ugh.....starting tomorrow, back to getting serious. i have to unload these excess pounds! where is my motivation????!
hi deb! i feel as you do of late. i stare at the treadmill as if it will bite me if i touch it. :roll so, i've been ignoring it lately. gotta overcome that fear of stepping back on it, and walking my heart to wellness. i know i can do it! i can! i just know i can! :chuckle
i'm doing it! i'm doing it! i'm doing it!
Not much new in healthy living here.... no exercise or really good eating habits to report... But mentally I'm feeling a lot better. I gave myself a little "snap out of it" talk about a week or so ago re: the wedding stuff. And I found a great web site for "independent-minded brides" which has been a great source of comfort. There was one article on it which described me nearly to a T and helped me put into perspective a lot of my anxieties and conflicting emotions. Sometimes just knowing that one is not alone in her feelings is enough to lift the stress.
Hope everyone else is doing well in their pursuits! Here's to a new week!

nothing "healthy" to report from my neck of the woods since i had pizza for dinner yesterday, and left over pizza for lunch, and a chicken sandwich for dinner.
didn't walk on the treadmill today at all, but will first thing in the morning. i've just been a sluggish bum today, that's all. just a moment in time...nothing for me to freak out about. anyhoo...nighty night. enjoy your friday evening!
