Ok folks, time has come to Start anew.......over 1000 posts means LOTS of bandwidth use here at allnurses.com. So I have been asked to remedy the situation.....
Anyhow, I have enjoyed so much your sharing, help and support here on the Healthier Living Thread....let's keep it up!!!!!:)
QOD: What is your favorite "old" or "new" healthy food/recipe? Care to share?
I have "rediscovered" oatmeal. Yep old fashioned good ole Quaker Oats-----the slow cooked kind.....with raisins, a bit of cinnamon and some Splenda.....YUMMY. Eating this as my dh's cholesterol and lipid counts were very high---trying to clean up my own dietary practices to help him with his....anyhow.....
Anyone else? As you change/grow/develop new tastes, what are your "old" or "new" healthier-choice favorites??? Care to share????
Jess...are you going to try the Rice Diet? I talked to my dd who is on that diet, and she said it's too restrictive for her, but so far she's lost 8 1/2 pounds in one week! Although she is happy with those results, she realizes it isn't safe enough to stay on that plan for long, so she is going back to her Weight Watchers diet. She said that she will still incorporate some of the good things she has learned to eat from the Rice Diet, but since it only offers 30 foods to choose from, she needs more of a selection. Don't think I'm going to try the Rice Diet afterall (for that reason). :)
Since I'm not an "emotional eater", and I don't stuff myself until full when I eat, I'm just going to stick with eating regular foods that are naturally good for the body and mind, and continue my workouts each day. :)
P.S............Jess.........dd says she'll email me the list of foods from the Rice Diet. I'll be happy to share them here when I get them for anyone who wants to use them.
Yeah, I was gonna try it for a week to jump start my plateu. Then I was going back to my normal healthy eating.
If it's not a problem, I'll be happy to have a copy of the list!
Thanks Renee :)
Hey Healthy Living Peeps!I woke up with a backache, don't know if it was the movie seat or what. But I went to yoga anyway and felt better, but it's coming back and I'm out of motrin. I rarely have a backache.
:)
Tweety, Dh suffers from backache so I got him a memory foam topper from overstock.com
Anyhow, it is the best thing. He has yet to complain about his back and we are in love with our matress topper. I even ordered the matching pillows.......I highly recommend
Take care of yourself.
I feel great now and didn't take any motrin. Both times the backache occurred upon waking up. I took a nap this afternoon. Maybe it's my bed, pillow or the fact I have to accommodate two Italian Greyhounds who insist on snuggling close causing me to contort to strange positions to accommodate them. :)
If it keeps up Jess, I'll look for a mattress topper. :)

Hi Jess, guess we are the only two checking in here today! Have a great day at school!
I started my day with one peach and cottage cheese. Of course, bottled water is my drink 24/7. Walked on the treadmill after breakfast for thirty-five minutes, then did some floor stretches with dd. Tried to read my Bible while walking on the treadmill, and couldn't see the pages well enough with these glasses I have on. Guess my vision is getting worse, so need new glasses. Why does everything seem to go awry when one is T-Totally temporarily financially down and out? :icon_roll
BBL, and hello to all who decide to take a peep in here today!
