Greetings. Deb is going to put a sticky on this thread and eventually delete the other.
This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.
It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!

[color=#483d8b]anyway, i'll give you a little background on my "healthy nurse" status. a few years ago, trapped in a very bad marriage and generally in a bad emotional state altogether, i developed an addiction to my pain meds, smoked, and gained 100 lbs. i had'nt ever had these issues and believe me, it overwhelmed me, catapulted my life out of control, and i still can't imagine that i'm here typing this now, whole and healthy.

[color=#483d8b]i woke up one day and decided i did not want to live my life broken anymore. thankfully i found a lot of help in a lot of ways.. i'm now clean, smoke free, and 96 lbs. lighter. i go to the gym 5-6 days a week, attend weight watchers weekly, 2 nurse support groups for recovering nurses as well. oh yes, i divorced 4 yrs ago and engaged to the best guy on earth.

[color=#483d8b]so, i hope you don't mind if i chime in a bit:smilecoffeecup: . i'm snowed/iced in right now and catching up on posts.

i've described this before as "taking advantage of the open window". something inside sees the way out - and you just jump at the opportunity to save yourself! congratulations!
love the scarecrow quote btw

congratulations on all the above
you got it going on girlfriend !
thanks for the welcomes everyone. i'm about to eat my light snack before hitting the gym this morning. i usually do something high protein.
[color=#483d8b]has anyone here tried greek yogurt? i have never liked american yogurt but a coworker had me try greek style and i love it! i add some splenda and fruit. it's very thick and creamy, low in fat and good source of protein.
[color=#483d8b]i better run, after the gym, it's back to work after 2 lazy days off!

Cas, I never tried Greek yogurt. I've seen "Austrailian style" yogurt, and it's a bit more creamy thin like you could drink it. At least the brand I've tried. I try to include yogurt a couple of times a week for the pro-biodics.
I worked out this morning and has and made a breakfast burrioto of eggs and veggie sausage, so I got my protien. (The wrap was whole grain of course).
Breakfast burrito sounds great tweety - congrats on being good. :) There were some girls from the school over here selling breakfast burritos this morning - but the very unhealthy type, so I declined.
Zoe - LOL, I don't blame you about the ocean. I think I would be attached too.
Hiker & Muffie - how's it going? Hope all is well.
Blue - sounds wonderful. How is the house coming along? Enjoy your weekend!
Hi everybody else!
I am going to lunch with a friend this afternoon and I have already decided I'm going to get the one-trip salad bar and load up on a nice, big veggie dish for lunch. :)
Rain & CAS, that greek yogurt sounds really good. We seem to get skipped by stuff like that around here, but I will keep my eyes peeled for it. There are some things I love about being in the middle of nowhere, and then others that I really don't care for. Finding access to good/healthy foods is one that is pretty hard to come by out here. No gyms either. Phooey.
