All is well with me. I had a hangover from the binge eating the other day, but survived. LOL

Well I missed my workout yesterday, blah. Worked Mon. and Tues. night and had 2 hellish nights ...... ran my butt off both nights, I felt like that was plenty of a workout.

Question: Do you guys eat before you go to bed? I know it's supposedly a big no-no, but I get home from work about 8 am and I NEED to eat a little something before I go to bed otherwise I wake up starving and not able to sleep. I go to sleep about an hour after I eat. Is that going to cause me problems? What do you guys do?

I always did when I worked nites (8's OR 12's, didn't matter). Even if I had TIME to eat a meal at work, I had a hard time doing it - don't know why but the work kind of killed the appetite (lol). So when I would get home I would eat. I mean, you have to eat SOME time!

I've heard two schools of thought - the one being, that if you eat before bed, your body isn't working to metabolize it off you. The other, that calories in are calories in and it doesn't matter when.

Big help ain't I (chuckle)

I'm really trying to take better care of myself. Got my teeth and eyes checked out recently. I haven't addressed the diet issue, but I've been going to the gym now almost daily for a week and a half. I really felt good last night. Ha ha I don't have to share the gym with nobody if I go at 2 am. My scrubs fit way better already. Ironic thing is I sweat way more doing morning rounds than spending 25 min on the treadmill.

You know what? This is true. Wonder why we are not all toothpicks!

It is good you mentioned the other health care issues we should pay attention to - physical exams, well women/well men stuff, etc.

I guess peanut butter and crackers would be better than nothing, or cheese and crackers, or just crackers (lol) - I have a hard time eating on night shift myself - but no trouble in the morning AFTER work!

a glass of milk also helps tide me over - that I can do.

Hi Adrienurse - welcome! I'm not sure about good evening options. Maybe fresh veggies? I am all for quick and easy foods like baby carrots or celery sticks.
