Greetings. Deb is going to put a sticky on this thread and eventually delete the other.

This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.

It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!

Congrats on the sixs month's Zoe!

Hi Miss Calc! I'll have to look up that book. I also recommend doing the real age. I did it last year. I was pleasantly surprised by my real age was 7 years less, but it made a recommendation or two that was off the mark, but no biggie.

Hi Sarah, sorry about your health issues. Good luck with that.

Hi RN2, keep up the good work! I know all about those "slumps".

Roy, keep on pumping!

I'm off to yoga class now!

Tweety, it is always good to see you, you are such a great cheerleader!

Next step of running program -

8 minutes run - 4 minutes walk - 8 minutes run - 4 minutes walk - 8 minutes run - 4 minutes walk! Still a total of 36 minutes... but instead of 6 miunte run then 6 minute walk, it's more running less walkking!

I loved how after I stopped - for a minute, my legs and feet felt warm (even hot!). All that blood flowing down and up :chuckle

Then worked out on shoulders - upgraded weights from 15 lbs to 20 lbs each arm!

Still no difference in weight and body fat %

But like Der Tweetmeister said: "KEEP PUMPING!" :)

Yes, Roy keep pumping! Remember though that unusual pain and numbness is the clue to stop, not press on and ignore it. It could actually be back problems, those nerves inervate the legs.

I've got a summer cold and yesterday did 20 minutes of aerobics and decided that was enough. I didn't want to stress my body. I'm trying to eat lots of fruits and vegetables for the antioxidants to keep my immune system fighting, but it has to run it's course. It's relatively mild as far as colds go, but I took the day off from work anyway.

Roy...this may seem silly but were your shoes tied too tight? Personally, I like my shoes tight when I run but there is a fine line between tight and so tight my foot feels numb or asleep.

Just a thought...

cheers!

Zoe, that's what we're here for, to support and cheer one another on.

I've been eating well, but been under the weather. I worked 12 hours and am tired to the bone. Hopefully, I can sleep well and shake it off and work out tomorrow.

Tomorrow is boy's night out. Italian Food!

I went to the gym today and had a good work out and treadmilled for 40 minutes. Felt good, but being under the weather it totally exhausted me to the point I took a 2 hour nap afterwards. hehehe.

I've eaten quite well while I've been ill. Tonight I'm spluging on Italian food!

I went to yoga class and stopped by the health food store and spent $85.00. I always go in for a few things and come out broke. :)

I had some black bean dip on a whole grain cracker and John, who is quite used to me eating strange things like seaweed, kimchee, tofu, etc. said "I hate to ask but what the hell is that stuff that looks like dog diarrhea??". LOL

So today I go to the gym and have a nice workout that includes 40 minutes of aerobics. I go to Walmart and while I'm there get an ice cream bar, a small bag of chips and some ramen noodles. whassupwithdat?

Moral of the story. Don't go grocery shopping after the gym when sugar reserves are dropping. LOL

Hi guys! Sorry for the absence - business got the best of me, that's for sure! Anyway, I am back now. Might be off and on, but don't fear, I haven't abandoned you.

Thanks guys for the support - Zoe, I'm not sure, but I think it should be ok to wait. I started my 'female cycle' a week early this last time and it lasted 16 days. Mine is usually long and heavy, but not quite that long - 10 days is the norm for me, plus it usually doesn't start quite that early, usually only a couple days early at the most. Hmm. I had my tubes tied over a year ago, so not sure what the deal is. Anyway, I have convinced myself it will be good to wait until Oct. so that I can track it the next couple of months . . . at least that is what I am telling my brain. :)

I have not been good the past few days - stress has been getting to me. I feel like I am yo-yoing here lately, so I have got to do something different. I do really good for a few days, but then bad again, then good again and so-forth. I am hoping that after finals next week I can be better. I think that making it through my first class without sinking will help, so if I can get that far, then maybe I can focus a bit more on myself . . . I hope. :)

Oooh - my little guy is getting ready to start pre-school the 14th. He is my oldest, so this is a first-time for me.
