Yep, I didn't have the grilled cheese. This is where being a vegetarian bugs me because I could have had some grill boneless chicken breast they had, but instead at grilled cheese. Oh well........I love grilled cheese.

Off to the gym!

I had grilled cheese for lunch yesterday (made by me, so I know it's not all that bad for me).

I had to read this thread today as I'm hoping it will motivate me to go run. I don't know why I just don't feel up to it today. Normally, Friday is my day off but I took yesterday off since I hurt my foot on Wednesday and couldn't bear the pressure of a tied running shoe. It's still tender, but I think I could get by.

Oh well...maybe I will go right now while I'm talking about it...

have a good day, all.

I don't blame you Tweety - but at least you stuck with the veggies, that is a plus! :)

rn2be, enjoy your run! :)

I was pretty good yesterday and proud of myself for not stress-eating before the exam. I was tempted to go get a huge double-cheeseburger and fries, but managed to avoid that temptation and instead I got a cup of egg drop soup (I know - sodium, but I am hoping still better than the latter) and had that for supper before my test. My whole diet yesterday consisted of 1/2 an apple (it was bland, so the other half got dumped), a yogurt, a 1/2 serving of popcorn - unbuttered & unsalted, and the egg-drop soup. I did splurge and have some juice after the test. :)

Today so far I have had the yogurt for breakfast and will munch on my apple at break.

Have a happy weekend everybody!

Yesterday I was good and went to the gym, worked out with weights and 40 minutes on two machines.

Wish I could run but the old knee still tells me no.

Sarah, good willpower against the doublecheese. This is where being a vegetarian is easy. I'm not as tempted, tempted yes, but usually don't consider those options. :)

I was good and went to the gym today.

I only wish I was so good and finished my studying goals today which involved a lot of reading. However, I did take a 3 hour nap. Must have needed it huh? Off to bowling tonight for some fun, studying be damned. LOL

ROFL! Tweety, sometimes you just need those days! Every once in a while, when I am getting really burnt out, I give myself a day off of school work - no reading allowed! It can be so refreshing!

I stocked the fridge at work with fresh peaches, avocadoes and yogurt. I figure if I don't have anything else here, then I won't be tempted, so I'm sticking to that. Hopefully it will help as I was really bad yesterday - went to a training where they supplied about a year's worth of junk food, including fresh donuts - oops! Oh well - back on track today! Gosh it is hard to diet while in school!

Found out I got a 99% on test #2, I hate to brag, but I am so happy! I feel like I might survive this after all. I am starting to gain a little confidence, which is really good for me right now. I am so afraid I'm going to make a mistake, so I am taking all the positive reinforcement I can get and this was really good for my psychie! :)

Have a great day y'all!

Sarah, that is fantastic on the test grade!! Awesome! I can't keep tempting food in the house because I have no self-control. Kudos

I did management to catch up studying today. :)

I went to yoga for the first time in two weeks (work and the 4th interfered with my normal schedule) and it showed. I was a bit uninspired.

Off to my chat class. I had a healthy spinach salad with avacodo (Sarah avacodos are a superfood full of lots of good stuff) but am eating up some Morningstar veggie chicken nuggest because class starts in 4 minutes (guess I'd better go) and there's no time between yoga class and chat to cook.

Good deal Tweety - I am hoping to get caught up myself today. Tomorrow we will be learning the skill of catheter insertion, so I need to be on top of my game (or at least not laying there, snoring beside it - LOL!).

Good deal - I have that issue with time as well - I don't have time to stop and cook anything, I have to go straight from work to class if I don't want to be late. I think I have about 15 minutes in between. Luckily my house lies in between those two spots, so I stopped there yesterday and ate some cottage cheese and fresh tomatoes (right out of the garden - yummy) for supper last night. :)

Anyway, have a good day everybody. I am headed to get my yogurt for breakfast before I delve into this pile of work on my desk. ;)

Hey guys and gals.

I've been a bad boy lately - havent worked out in 5 days. I was supposed to work out today... hmmm, maybe I still can.

I also had two cigarettes - I'm definitely under control, but I wish I hadn't!:trout: my longest break anyways - I stopped sometime in April and hadn't smoked one puff till yesterday! Now that my "habitual" smoking is under control, I need to work on the "impulsive" smoking bit.... :uhoh3:

On the other hand - I'm pretty proud of myself... for the past two years, I have generally avoided eating candy, chocolates, ice cream, cakes and cookies and pastries. My only 'vice' is pop ... and I've cut down on that too! No chips, crackers or other high salt stuff.

Heck, I even brought down my consumption of red meat.

I still got a long way to go.

I'm exercising regularly - I'm at a 154 lbs [A year and half ago, I was at 130 lbs]. Despite my increase exercise, and better eating habit, my weight remains where it is...

.... but it's only been 2 weeks of exercise. I'm positive that the more muscle mass I build, the more fat I'll burn and more easier it will be for me to keep it off! :)

Hope I can find the determination to carry this thing through....

Hi Roy. We're all a work in progress and it sounds like you've done a very good job with some of your goals and are working on others. When I used to smoke, it's been 20 years this year, one impulse cigarette eventually lead to full fledged smoking every time. There was no such thing as "under control smoking" if I had one puff. I did everything I could possibly do to dely that one puff. No puff in 20 years....I can hardly believe it.

I did very well at work today food wise, which has been an issue for me because work is my downfall. So tomorrow our beloved housekeeper is quitting and we're giving her a big party. I hope I'm not too bad, but I'm surely to be bad.

Hi Zoe & Jahra & everybody - hope everyone had a nice 4th!

xoxoxo sddlnscp and everyone!

trying to avoid the old white flour/sugar but haven't been to the gym for a WEEK! I think wanting instant results, and being tired/hot/lazy/whatever - sigh...

But the biggest detractor to my caring about myself (which is REALLY what this is all about, isn't it?) is getting discouraged when I fall off. And then I think, "Well, I've ruined it, I might as well keep (not) doing it!" :o

Hi Roy! I can relate to the issues with shaking the weight. It seems like every time I really try to be good is when all the home-made cookies and cakes and pies come out of the woodworks too! Anyway, good job getting back into the exercise routine and good luck with those cigs - that is a tough habit to break!

Tweety - I am glad you are doing good with the diet, I'm sure the housekeeper's party is going to be hard. We are going to have a pot-luck next week at class and it sounds like predominantly junk food, so I too am hoping I can keep myself moderately under control.

Hey Zoe - I think that wanting instant gratification is my biggest hang-up right now too. It's so hard when weight comes on so fast, but yet it takes forever to get rid of. I have got to get a grip on mine before it gets out of hand.

Well, I was doing pretty good and then along came my friends (sometimes I wonder why your friends are always wanting to kill your diet, but whatever). Anyway, I have not been good the past two days - so starting over (AGAIN) today - LOL! I hope I can get this under control, good grief, I feel like I am fighting a loosing battle. Every time I think I have it, something comes along and messes me up. Anyway - I'm thinking of keeping a food journal, just to make myself feel guilty about what I am eating since I have to write it down - maybe that will help. Had yogurt for breakfast, so we shall see where the day leads me.

Have a great weekend everybody - best of luck with all the habits!
