Nov 28, '05Quote from TweetyCome on Zoe, you can do better than that!
But some days that has to be enough doesn't it? No judgement here.
Nov 28, '05Well, sounds like everybody fared well for the Holiday. I was utterly horrible over the holiday - got into the chocolate cake - oops :imbar: Oh well, back to the diet starting today! (I almost did yesterday - so close, yet so far away.) Anyway, am going to start out the day with a huge glass of water!
Nov 28, '05Morning everyone. I worked this weekend and got a lovely migraine last night that had me sleeping a 12 hours straight. Woke up a bit "hung over" this morning. They seem more frequent these days, and now the nausea/vomiting are coming FIRST , to further confuse things......
Another vote for BBQ turkey here. It's good....so is smoked----dh smokes a delicious turkey.
Ah well back to reality. It's Monday and Thanksgiving is long behind us. Time for me to get off my duff and get some thing done----ingredients needed for Turkey ALA King, we have to use up the last of the meat somehow.
Take care and have a good day---no self-bashing now. Each day is a new opportunity for you to change things you did not, yesterday!
Nov 28, '05Today I added some turkey to my beans and brown rice lunch. I decided to freeze some because it's just too much for one person. I saved enough to make turkey soup tomorrow, but I'm starting to get turkeyed out.
Today I'm going to have salmon for supper.
I did a little bit at the gym this morning but was so tired from getting up so early, I cut it short and come home and went to bed.
Nov 28, '05I did three miles on the treadmill and was able to stand upping the speed for a mile anyway. I judge it by how much I sweat . . . and I was dripping.
It is snowing harder now. So no walk with ds.
Gotta think of something delicious for dinner - and healthy.
Nov 29, '05I was pretty good last night - I ate a small bowl of chili (minus the beans for me), but I put it on a bed of fresh spinach leaves and mixed in some salsa for spiciness. That was good. I had some frozen strawberries (no sugar of course) only slightly thawed for dessert. Yummy.
Nov 29, '05I have been very bad all month. Hence my disappearing act here :chuckle j/k.
The holidays make it very tough. I have been much better than in past years, but still. :stone
Nov 29, '05Aaah Jess, I can empathyze - I know just what you mean. I had planned on being sooooooo good - but that evil cake found me. Oh well, I think I'm over it now - back on the bandwagon. I feel like I gained 5 lbs. over the holiday - the scale says it ain't so, but I don't know if I believe it or not. I will try to be good until Christmas at least. I figure, if I give myself a "free day" over the holiday, then maybe I will behave more than trying to be too restrictive. . . I hope.
Anyway, glad you're back!
Nov 29, '05Quote from sddlnscpAhhhh I am not alone. That evil cake and pie I tell you. For me, it has been those caramel pecan turtles! (insert watering mouth here)..........Aaah Jess, I can empathyze - I know just what you mean. I had planned on being sooooooo good - but that evil cake found me. Oh well, I think I'm over it now - back on the bandwagon. I feel like I gained 5 lbs. over the holiday - the scale says it ain't so, but I don't know if I believe it or not. At least I am conscious about it. Years ago, I had no guilt and surely I payed the price.
to healthy eating and living.
Nov 29, '05I'm still doing good, but I skipped the gym today in favor of yoga tonight and errands I had. I just can't do it all some days. But I'm off the rest of the week and will fit in plenty of gym time.
Sarah, I had that those diets leave out the superfood beans. They add good soluable fiber that helps to keep the cholestorol in check (from eating so much meat), and have antioxidants and are truly a superfood. I hope when you're off the diet you go back to putting the beans in your chili.
I made some turkey soup for supper after yoga. I used a lot of the leftover dark meat, which isn't the healthiest, but it's better than chicken dark meat, so I hear.
Nov 29, '05Jess, we all have our "sticking" points.....I know I do.
I was good, went to Curves today, doing the circuit 1 1/2 times. My goal is to do it twice 3-4 days a week. I need to really work on this poor body. A lady there lost 70 lb and 100 cholesterol points in 1 year, doing the circuit 2x 3 days a week. I am building some steam....getting stronger. I just need to leave those SWEETS alone!!!!
SO you are not alone, Jess.
Sarah, WAY TO GO ----you are doing terrific!
Nov 29, '05Tweety, you are right;beans are good for ya. Got a 15 bean mix soaking for soup for tomorrow. Trying to incorporate more of these into my diet w/o gassing out the house. MY poor lil digestive system is shocked rofl.
