Nurses Stress 101

Published

Ok folks, time has come to Start anew.......over 1000 posts means LOTS of bandwidth use here at allnurses.com. So I have been asked to remedy the situation.....

Anyhow, I have enjoyed so much your sharing, help and support here on the Healthier Living Thread....let's keep it up!!!!!:)

QOD: What is your favorite "old" or "new" healthy food/recipe? Care to share?

I have "rediscovered" oatmeal. Yep old fashioned good ole Quaker Oats-----the slow cooked kind.....with raisins, a bit of cinnamon and some Splenda.....YUMMY. Eating this as my dh's cholesterol and lipid counts were very high---trying to clean up my own dietary practices to help him with his....anyhow.....

Anyone else? As you change/grow/develop new tastes, what are your "old" or "new" healthier-choice favorites??? Care to share????

O.K. Thanksgiving is over. The parents have left, and it's time to start getting seriously seroius about diet and exercise again.

I've got plenty of turkey left, so that's o.k. Just not sure what to do with all the other leftover junk. John is going out of town tomorrow, and most of it is forbidden food. I'd bring it into work if I wasn't on vacation. It's getting old, so I'll probably just pitch it. Normally, I'd eat it on the principal that you don't throw away good food, but it's too much and I need to get busy and back on track.

I think it's funny how we don't want to "waste" food - well think about it - you eat it - you diet and exercise it off - why not take a shortcut and just chuck it! LOL!

Easy for me to say, I ate at a girlfriend's and SHE has all the leftovers! heh heh...

Just a thought Tweety....

We pack up a plate of the goodies and pass them around to friends and family that don't cook. That's why we cook so much. The boys eat it but we have to feed the world here.LOL Barbeque turkey is a good option too, or freezing it. I'm full of that turkey...back to salads till christmas. Just got to watch the taste testing of those cookies....we make baskets of those too. Ok, to the gym!

hmmm....barbeque turkey sounds really good. I haven't thought of that. I'll be making stir fry and soup.

I'm keeping the turkey, so I don't want to go to friends and say "here's a plate of potatoes and stuffing!". LOL

I had a healthy day! I went to yoga. I ate plenty of fruits and veggies. For supper I made my tofu stir fry, but added turkey meat too it. :)

Let's see, what did I do healthy today:

I walked to and from the car several times.

I breathed.

ummmmm..... I took my meds as prescribed LOL

Come on Zoe, you can do better than that! :rotfl:

But some days that has to be enough doesn't it? No judgement here.

Well, sounds like everybody fared well for the Holiday. I was utterly horrible over the holiday - got into the chocolate cake - oops :imbar: :D Oh well, back to the diet starting today! (I almost did yesterday - so close, yet so far away.) Anyway, am going to start out the day with a huge glass of water!

Morning everyone. I worked this weekend and got a lovely migraine last night that had me sleeping a 12 hours straight. Woke up a bit "hung over" this morning. They seem more frequent these days, and now the nausea/vomiting are coming FIRST , to further confuse things......

Another vote for BBQ turkey here. It's good....so is smoked----dh smokes a delicious turkey.

Ah well back to reality. It's Monday and Thanksgiving is long behind us. Time for me to get off my duff and get some thing done----ingredients needed for Turkey ALA King, we have to use up the last of the meat somehow.

Take care and have a good day---no self-bashing now. Each day is a new opportunity for you to change things you did not, yesterday!

Today I added some turkey to my beans and brown rice lunch. I decided to freeze some because it's just too much for one person. I saved enough to make turkey soup tomorrow, but I'm starting to get turkeyed out.

Today I'm going to have salmon for supper.

I did a little bit at the gym this morning but was so tired from getting up so early, I cut it short and come home and went to bed. :)
