Beyond the Call of Duty: Compelling Health Care Professionals to Work During an Influenza Pandemic
In anticipation of pandemics and other mass disasters, several states have enacted little-known laws that authorize government officials to order health care professionals to work during declared public health emergencies, even when doing so would pose life-threatening risks. Health care professionals who violate these orders could face substantial penalties, ranging from license revocations to fines and imprisonment. The penalties would apply even to individuals whose jobs do not normally involve clinical responsibilities, as well as to health care professionals who are retired or taking time off from work to care for their families.

You have secretly been property of the government your whole life :angryfire - ever since you took or were given a Social Security Number and a birth certificate was issued, thereby creating your "straw man". (A straw man is actually a type of trust entity. You will notice it when you see it, such as on your driver's license, spelled all in upper case.)
There is a bond filed away, probably along with lots and lots of precious metal (gold) in the vaults of the Fed Reserve Bank of NY. This is my guess. I don't actually know that that's where the bond for each person who takes an SSN is filed.
Said bond is created as a pledge by the Fed gov to the Central Bank (Federal Reserve), as collateral against the national debt. The bond represents your value to them as a taxpayer, i.e., the Fed Gov owes money, trillions of it, to the Federal Reserve. We taxpayers get to pay it, in the form of withholding from our checks and via paying any balance they figure we owe in taxes on April 15 q year.
It is possible to get free of this by either collapsing the trust or by understanding fully how to use it to your advantage, rather than the gov using it/you to their advantage.

Point of interest: The Federal Reserve is not part of our government. It is a private corporation. America borrows money from it, at interest. We are deeply, deeply indebted to FR because our Congressmen and -women
are ignorant of what the Constitution says about Congress getting to coin money and/or because they are bought off and do not stand up to call for a return to doing what the Constitution says to do about money - that being that our Treasury should coin it for free. No borrowing, no debt. Borrowing, trillions of dollars of debt. The US has, in fact, been bankrupt and in receivership to the Fed Res for several decades now. So we are all enslaved/drafted already.

I have a idea. Hire all the out of work new grads and anyone else that wants to work right now. Put them thru orientation over the summer and when if the epidemic turns into the pandemic in the fall they will have enough help to deal with it.
After reading the article it made me realize it might not be so bad to be getting older. It said Medical personel between the ages of 20=45. Well , that lets me out, even though I plan on working no matter what.

But when the BON takes away their license or they die from exposure...then they will make us old folk work til we drop...prop up our dead bodies in the corner and say "Hey, its ok we have a RN on the floor":idea:
Well, instead of waiting this to happen to me, I'm a willing participant. I am among the first to get called in for pandemic anything, and I am specially trained. Maybe more states should ask for volunteers for this type of training first.

I think they'd be surprised at the volunteer response- or moreso if special training (and subsequent salaries) were offered.
I for one will report to work! I will make arrangements for my family and report!

Good for you- and thank you- from one who doesn't have the option to 'make arrangements' for my family because I *am* the 'arrangements'. (Recognizing in situations like this that daycare/school/etc. will likely be shut down thus ruling out that form of arrangement, and not having family anywhere nearby to pick up that slack.)
I take A LOT of offense to the term "piddly nursing license". PLEASE____I worked hard for this for 4 years and 20 years of practicing and I will not have ANYONE call it PIDDLY.
