HCA StaRN contract

Published

what happens if you break the HCA starRN contract? i hear you’re not allowed to work for any other HCA facility ever again. is this true? what if you pay off the money in full? has anybody ever broken the contract then went off to work for HCA again in the future ? what if you leave as a nurse but then come back to work as a social worker or pharmacist or something, would the blacklist still apply to you even if ur not returning as an RN again? also does breaking a contract look bad to other employers?

How long did you sign the contract for and how soon did you leave ?

I'm considering leaving and wanna know the chances of them making me pay back the 10K.

2 years and I left 1 year and 4 months into it, paid back like $4k

I worked for a long time at HCA, I love bedside nursing, but when we started getting 6 or SEVEN very sick patients, plus that slow charting system, I gave 2.5 weeks notice and left. I dont care if I can't work at HCA again. Other hospitals will give you 5 pts and only 6 if someone call in sick, and everyone else has a much faster charting system. there are plenty of nursing jobs, just start applying elsewhere. someone will fall & really hurt themselves when you are overworked and it's your fault then ?

Hello!! I broke my contract last month and I got a letter from "Benefit Recovery Group" asking for the money back. I was wondering if you could share with me what happened after you received the letter? It's not fair to pay $10,000 "for a training", that's money I never received. If you have any info I'd appreciate it.

Hello where do you live? I have friends who have broken their contracts and not paid

I broke my contract in April, got a letter earlier this month requesting I pay back $3K. Did you pay the $4K in a lump sum to the Benefit Recovery Group? I was considering hiring an attorney to review the contract...

Does anyone know if Benefit  Recovery Group will report to your credit reports?

This has to be the worst hospital system ever. Any tips on surviving the 2 years?! I don’t want to quit but I feel like I’m spiraling. As a new grad, I come in feeling like I’m having to fix BS all night. The amount of falsified charting I see is ridiculous. I know I could survive if I BS my way through the night like everyone else but I really don’t have the heart to *** patients over. I’m open to learn and grow so please give me some tips.

I’m in the same. boat. My advice is to get another job at the end of the 2 years. I could be wrong but I think this company does not treat their nurses so well.

If that doesn’t work out for me, I’m going into community nursing/doctors office type work. Did that once before and it honestly wasn’t so bad.

Hi I was wondering if you decided to leave or if you found out any more info about breaking their contract? I'm considering leaving too.

I just quit a few weeks ago and broke my contract...these HCA owned hospitals don't give a crap about their employees. The hospital I was with has had SO MANY nurses leave over the last few months. As a new grad, that's not something I wanted to see. The work environment was so completely toxic and I feel like my license was always in jeopardy due to unsafe staffing and inappropriate high acuity admits. I know the first year as a new graduate is hard in general, but in no way should it be like this. None of the senior/ experienced nurses even wanted to be there! Wondering if I'll be hearing from the benefit recovery group. My contract was for 10k (no relocation or sign on bonus) and I literally got 2 weeks of a preceptorship before I was practically thrown to the wolves. You can bet I'll be hiring a lawyer if they come after me to pay them back

How long was the preceptorship supposed to have lasted?
