I had the seasonal vaccine a few weeks ago with no problem. On Monday, I had the H1N1- no soreness at all, but much more concerning is that for the following two days, my balance was completely off! I was stumbling, dropping things and could not concentrate at all. I have never had a reaction to a vaccine before; any thoughts?

That doen't sound like a reaction to the vaccine to me. Fever, arm soreness, muscle aches, even headache maybe, but neurological deficits usually belong in a different arena. :wink2: What else was going on?

Well, TV news just reported that some people who were vaccinated against H1N1 flu, have gotten it........now that's what I'd call a bad reaction! So people who won't take that vaccine, seeing it as futile, were interviewed. Isn't that swell? The results aren't in yet (not possibly time enough for such a result to be certain), on the relatively small sample of people who have gotten vaccinated - and most of them are in high risk groups.....

Vaccines are never 100% effective. The proportion of the population that is NOT protected by a vaccination varies. See this discussion at the CDC site for seasonal influenza vaccination.

I had no other side effects at all... probably had nothing to do with the vaccine. I am actually feeling more 'normal' tonight.

It is a good idea to report this side effect, it can be documented and people can then be warned and take precautions when ambulating, especially if they have a pre-existing mobility impairment.

It is a side effect that has been noticed by other healthcare providers

There was a flier sent to us re: h1n1 side effects, and one is GBS (Guillian Barre Syndrome). Might want to research on this.

I got the H1N1 flu shot and had no side effects from it. I was sick after getting the seasonal flu shot (got that one just after some bronchitis stupid me lol) but the H1N1 was much better.

Swine flu vaccine is the first flu vaccine in which I had absolutely no reaction at all. Not even a sore arm.

I had my vaccination 24 hours ago and other than a small bruise at the injection site, I have had no reactions.

I have not had mine yet as I am just getting over shingles, but five of my night co-workers marched over to employee health in the last 2 weeks, and got theirs. All of them are fine. They did it to protect their families and the patients as well as themselves, and I am proud of them. Hope to get my dose soon.
