Has anyone here gotten into nursing school with a 'B' in Anatomy?

Published

I still have the final to take, but sincerely don't think it will bring me up enough. I have an 85 in the class. :(

Am I even going to be able to get in to school?

u didn't put me on the spot or anything like that. i do have a 4.0 GPA (not that i'm bragging about it) but i can't change what's in the system. u asked if it's possible and i'm telling u it is but if u already have it in mind that it's impossible, my effort to convince u will be worthless. or maybe i'm not being clear enough on my part, if that's the case, well then i think it would be best to seek ur answers from someone capable of explaining in the simplest of terms.

i should answer other questions now.

Wait wait... in another post you state and I quote.....

school 1: i got a C instead of a C+ in pharmacology, REJECTED

school 2: i had a GPA of 3.6 instead of 3.8, REJECTED

school 3: i don't have a computer course...too late to take it now, we have selected all our nursing student, REJECTED

school 4: they were too "sexy" to give me a reason even though i had all my pre reqs. u guessed it, REJECTED

Are you trying to say THIS semester you got a 4.0 GPA or overall? Because if you've gotten a C in pharmacology and a B in AP there is no way (I repeat) NO WAY you would have an overall 4.0 GPA.

Not to be nit picky but the way you're making it seem is that you have an overall 4.0 which is not the case as you've stated in a previous post.

Hello!

Yes, I had a B in either A&P I or II. I'm also in an RN program, too! Supposedly, it was really hard to get into my program and there were a lot of applications. So, I was very surprised. Keep up with your GPA. It's your best bet. Even if you do get a B in A&P, you also have the other classes to depend on. You should be just fine. :nuke: Good luck!

thats what I'm trying to say, makes no sense. maybe a 4.0 in a particular semester, maybe a 4.0 in your program, but not a 4.0 overall if you have anything other than ALL A's, in EVERY class.

not to be a jerk, but maybe you're getting rejections for misrepresenting your GPA...again, not being nasty just being honest. That kind of thing will raise eyebrows, which will lead to them to use a fine-tooth comb with the rest of your application...might want to think carefully about that fact.

so to end this whole disscusion just answer these questions:

1. do you have a 4.0 overall? (as in every class you've ever taken calculated together equals a 4.0)

2. do you have a 4.0 in just your program? (ie. calculate all your nursing classes together, leaving out other elective classes such as math or english or prereqs, and it equals a 4.0)

3. are you just speaking of a 4.0 in any one particular semester? (ie. for the Spring semester I took 12 credit hours and had A's in every class so I got a 4.0 for the Spring semester)

3.

Some GPA-calculating systems are weir. My last year in college I got all "As" and ended up with a 3.0. I'm retaking all my courses to improve.

I'm new to this forum and I have a few questions...I just took my TEAS today and made a 75.3 on it. I messed up my first semester in school and have been trying to raise my gpa...right now my cumulative gpa is a 2.78...I'm really nervous that I won't get in and if I don't get in, I really don't have a back up plan...Do you know the lowest possible score Charity will except??

Any answers will be helpful

even if you had 30 A's and one B its a 3.97...thats a 3.97, not a 4.0. you can never have a 4.0 unless you have all A's. you see my confusion with what you're saying? anyone want to jump in and correct my thinking, please?

You are correct.

Did you get an A in your English classes as well?

Things are starting to make sense now and more then just dealing with a GPA ;)

To the OP it depends on your school. I got C's in A&P 1 and 2, I just finished my first semester of Nursing School :)

If your school has a nursing page on the college website it will usually say. My school was waitlist and the minimum GPA was a 2.5

I go to southeastern in Hammond...I got a C n engl 101 a B n engl 102 n an A in engl 231...

I'm applying to charity school of nursing for the spring of 2011...I still haven't taken my a&p II courses I take those next semester.

I'm currently attending Ivy Tech and I did an accelerated APHY 101 and 102 course in spring of 2009, so that meant 8 weeks of 101 and then 8 weeks of 102 in the same semester. I was never the strongest person when it came to science courses, but I wanted to meet the deadline to apply for the Fall '09 RN and LPN programs. I applied to the programs with two A's, two B's, and an 88 on my TEAS. I was basically hoping for a miracle. I went ahead and repeated 101 in the summer just in case I didn't get accepted. I ended up getting a rejection letter for the Fall '09 programs. However, it was a good thing I repeated 101, because I ended up getting an A (I repeated the course with the same instructor, so that really helped since I already knew the test formats). I was able to re-apply with three A's, one B, and the same score of 88 on my TEAS and was accepted into the Spring '10 RN program.

Depending on how your school goes about their acceptance process, it just all depends. You can very well still get accepted even if you do have a B. Essays, interviews, and any other additional application requirements could also help you offset a B if your school uses those for consideration of acceptance.

I got in with a C in anatomy, a B in physiology and I just finished my first semester of nursing and got an A in Pathophysiology and a 94 in TEAS in a BSN program. So you can do it!!!

I made B's in all of my science classes and I was accepted into the nursing program. I was upset because I thought I had no chance to be accepted in the spring where they only take 60 students. I was shocked to see that I was selected. So to answer you're question, you should be fine. Keep up the good work:w00t:
