Has anyone here gotten into nursing school with a 'B' in Anatomy?

Published

I still have the final to take, but sincerely don't think it will bring me up enough. I have an 85 in the class. :(

Am I even going to be able to get in to school?

of course

well, at the time i took both AP classes, i had a lightly lower GPA however, i was able to bring it to a 4.0 the following semester.

I'm confused, I'm really not trying to be a jerk I'm just trying to understand: how do you get a 4.0 having had a B(3.0) in any one class? That B will forever keep you from having a 4.0, right?

have ur GPA ever remained the same?

it fluctuates depending on what grades u get.

u must understand that i've taking a bunch of other classes (besides the pre reqs) which i drastically increased my GPA.

so, that's how i landed at a 4.0 GPA.:D

i hope this answers ur question.

even if you had 30 A's and one B its a 3.97...thats a 3.97, not a 4.0. you can never have a 4.0 unless you have all A's. you see my confusion with what you're saying? anyone want to jump in and correct my thinking, please?

I got a B in Anatomy and I went to nursing school. It depends on where you apply, but in general, I think they look at prerequisite GPA, cumulative GPA, and also how well rounded you are more than individual class grades. Volunteer work, military experience, foreign language knowledge, among other things, can help you get in.

C is the minimum requirement, so I would imagine a B would cut it.

Hope you successful! :)

A "B" in A&P is really good! I got a "B" in A&P 1 & 2 and got into nursing with no problem. A&P at my school is really hard and a lot of people drop out, have to take it again or sqeak by with a "C". So if you have a "B", smile!

I had a B in A&P 1&2, and I graduated from NS in May. In my class, 2 people got A's, 12 people got B's and about 30 got C's. Most of the people in my nursing class had C's in A&P. Hope this helps. You will be fine!!

ESE1212, it is not possible to get a 4.0 if you already had a B. Maybe you are talking about a 4.0 for a particular semester?

One B will keep you from getting a 4.0. My husband took calculus his first semester and that was the only B he got during college. He made all A's the rest of the time and ended up with a 3.98. I think that is the best you can get.

Exactly.

okay, thanks. I wasn't trying to be a jerk or put the girl on the spot. Its just not a good idea to go around saying you have a 4.0 when you don't. Imagine filling out an application that asks for GPA and you misrepresent yourself by saying you have a 4.0 when you don't. In the same note, a 4.0 is borring. Its amazing, but borring. A 3.98 gives an opportunity for a talking point during an interview..."I see you just missed having a perfect 4.0, what happened, what did you learn from this experience/class, does it still bother you, etc..."

u didn't put me on the spot or anything like that. i do have a 4.0 GPA (not that i'm bragging about it) but i can't change what's in the system. u asked if it's possible and i'm telling u it is but if u already have it in mind that it's impossible, my effort to convince u will be worthless. or maybe i'm not being clear enough on my part, if that's the case, well then i think it would be best to seek ur answers from someone capable of explaining in the simplest of terms.

i should answer other questions now.
