Has anybody got into CRNA school with a GPA under 3.00?

As title states. Interested in how you made your application more competitive and what schools you applied to.

Thanks.

As long as something else on your application stands out...like higher acuity ICU, some grad science classes or previous science degree, even just CCRN. You've always got a shot somewhere.

I mean, maybe someone, somewhere has gotten into CRNA school with a GPA less than a 3. But I honestly doubt it, unless someone else here who says they have. Remember, you're competing with what is supposed to be the best of the best (generally speaking that is) I'm there are some people who have gotten in who are less than spectacular, but due to the intensity and difficulty of school (from my experience) those people get weeded out fairly quickly.

There are 2 schools I have seen that allow students with a 2.75 to apply. Not sure if they accept very many.

Actually now that you say it. I am almost 100% sure my program is one of them, and the answer to that question is, NOPE.

I've heard of people getting into a couple Florida schools with less than 3.0 GPAs.

I'd be shocked. I haven't heard of anyone getting into any grad school with less than a 3.0 in years.

My friend just got into Wolford and FIU. Cum GPA was 2.9 and last 60hrs was 3.4. He got his CCRN, and aced Stats and Chemistry recently. Anyone can get into Wolford. FIU is a pretty good school. He also got invites to 4 other schools. I, on the other hand had a GPA above a 3.0, CCRN etc. However, FIU chose him and not me. Your interview holds a lot of weight as well. (I don't interview well). Don't ever give up. You CAN get in. You'll just have to work a little bit harder.

I think it's possible since there are so many schools opening. They have to fill all the seats somehow...

Had a friend with a 2.49 get in. Partied his way through undergrad, and about 10 years later went for CRNA. Retook a lot of his sciences and applied to mainly new programs but finally got in. He is the best CRNA I know and is amazing clinically. Grades are not everything, but they mean a lot.

Well his GPA was probably higher after retaking courses right?

I looked around in my area( in Tennessee), and a 3.0 gpa is a requirement to even apply to every school I've looked at. So I would say no to your question lol
