Hardest pre-reqs?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I was just wondering what all of you thought the hardest pre-reqs you took were. I am expecting Chemistry and Statistics to be the hardest for me! A & P and Microbiology shouldn't be that hard, I hear they're just a lot of memorization so that's not too bad. A lot of work but I don't mind.

Chemistry was VERY difficult for me. I breezed through Anatomy, physiology and Micro!

Hi there stranger, good to see you.

Wow you have come a long way. I will start nursing school in August....I did it, I got in :monkeydance:

for me so far i would have say a&p1 and intro to psychology has been the hardest for me. getting ready to take a&p2 and medical terminology in the fall. and taking micro in the spring.

Specializes in MSN, FNP-BC.

So far my hardest class is Pathyphysiology. It's tough and if you don't keep up, you're screwed. I just took my first test Wed and am waiting to see how I did. I ended up with over 100% (due to bonus) in my A&P courses and Patho is far more challenging than anatomy and physiology ever was.

i wasnt in your class, but I was at SAC on and off for two yrs then i finally got on track my last year there and got my associates. (Fall 2003 to Summer 2006). im at UTHSCSA now, not in the School of Nursing but in the School of Allied Health, in the RT program.

i hated anatomy at SAC with Torres and old man Garcia.

good luck in nursing school

which one will you be attending SAC, UTHSCSA or UIW?

I will attentd SAC ADN program starting August 27th! I dropped Torres but ended up with Garcia for Anatomy1 :o

I miraculously made an A! God was guiding my hand during the tests to check the right answer, his lab tests were something else (papers so old and worn from before the War of 1812 :lol2:

It was so bad that only 3 people were left to take the final everyone else dropped!!!!! I had serious organ pain on my left side while taking that class. I had Hanson for A&P2 and it was soooooo much better in his class even though it was hard stuff. He emphasized what we need to know in Pathophysiology in nursing school.

Good luck to you at UTHSCA, how is it there I hope not as bad as what we've been through at SAC.

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

UPDATE: I got a 96 on my first Patho test!! Yay!!! :clown:

They tell us at my school that how well you do in Patho is a good indication of how well you will do in clinicals so I'm super excited now!

Definitely...micro and AP
