Hair test

What will happen if you shave everything before an evaluation. Just in case they hair follicle. Also, cut your nails short. Will they consider this as a failure? I don't mean random drug tests but the initial evaluation.

Yes. It’s considered non testable. But I’ve read they can take leg hair if it’s long enough or even pubic hair ?

Yeah I'm talking about shaving all that

From what I’ve read you will be considered non testable which is a fail in the eyes of the BON.

 PM if you can!

Why would you want to shave everything, including your head hair, and cut your nails short? That would look really bad to the board if you went in completely hairless head to toe- it shows you have something to hide.

I've yet to have a hair test done, but I heard they can make something of anything (even pubic hair) and if they can't they will mark it as a fail/positive.

What kind of evaluation needs a hair test?

My evaluation did not include ANY testing at all, in terms of drug screening.  That was done after I was admitted to the program itself.  Just my 2 cents.

I think shaving everything off would be a HUGE red flag for them.

This^^

I agree 100%.

If you show up bald as the day you were born, head to toe, and having cut every single free edge of your finger and toe nails, you are gonna look guilty as sin. And they may also call into question your mental health.

You'd be better off to either take your chances or just fess up than go that route, IMO.

My initial test with the program was a hair test (In which they don’t care if was a dirty result, they do it as a “baseline.”) I would strongly advise you don’t shave! I did only admit to heroin on my intake and I’m sure my test popped for methamphetamine and benzos as well but they never mentioned the discrepancy. These programs are extremely savvy, it is 100% ALWAYS better to fall on your sword than try and be deceptive. Also here in California they are doing random hair and blood testing throughout the program. if this is your first test, I wouldn’t worry. If you are partway through the program, cross your fingers and hope for urine/blood. They sell special shampoos at head shops if you need a last ditch resort, but IDK if they are very reliable.

@jnks thank you for your response
