H1b Visa for nurses under FY 2010

I have applied for a work visa for the position as a dialysis nurse. I was filed last april 1 2009 and was wondering when will i get to have a visa? Anyone with a similar status of mine???:specs:

i would rather pray, wish or google and try to find out that something said by somebody is correct if that is beneficial for me. it might be wrong or right and i may or may not believe it, that's the other thing, but i do wanna make sure. also,i wouldnt judge a person and make them sound stupid when i'm not a pro myself.

i was just trying to understand the thing better that was being explained to me by my lawyer and to make sure i wasnt being misleaded. that was all about it.

I am glad you are making sure you are not being mislead as if anything goes wrong you will be held more accountable than your lawyer. However looking at the link it talks about experienced/specialist occupation and whether the beneficiary is in possession of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctoral degree in the health care occupation. As a new grad you do not meet these requirements. I personally would be looking for a second opinion

Hi..yes, RFE is request for further evidence which is the same with request for additional evidence. Hope this helps..:)

hi there...congratulations ! hope you're doing fine. just want to ask you how long did the whole process took? from the time you signed the contract up to the visa stamping.

thanks for the reply.

Hi. I just found out that my application was already transfered from my agency TO MY LAWYER last Aug 17 for review. I just would like to know the usual timeframe for the lawyers to review documents before they can send the file to USCIS for visa application.

Its taking so long since I applied last June and upto now my application has not been sent yet to USCIS for H1b application.

That's a question you need to ask your attorney. Every attorney is different depending on their case load. It's priority just like in nursing. The attorneys will work on case loads that are going to being them more money. To them, that's the priority. But consider that they have other cases and so they have to work a little at a time and what's a priority to them. The more money you give them, the faster they work on your case.

Lawyers tend to do things in bulk so a lot will depend on how many others the lawyer is doing. This is something you need to ask your lawyer and agency

Im waiting for my notice of receipt. My employer told me its somewhere in May or early June. Hope this works. I think the H1b visa is good only for Specialized nurses. Like nurses in the ICU, HDU, or any specialized area.

hi LemuelRN. I am also waiting for my notice of receipt. My employer told me that my papers has been passed to the USCIS last 1st week of August.. but still haven't received anything yet.... Did you get your notice already.. your reply will be deeply appreciated! thanks!:nurse:

If someone filled their paperwork in LAST June (?2008?) and it hasn't been submitted, there's a problem. Even if you meant this June of 2009, then why have they had it 2 months? Any day the visas could run out for the year. This is the problem you get when the lawyer works for the agency and not you.

hi ghilbert! thanks for the reply.. that's my dilemma right now.. I've send an e-mailed to Cambridge lately but there has been no reply.. am getting worried because I might be waiting for nothing.. pray for me!

may i ask:

1. how can you be considered as an advanced nurse?

2. is having a master's degree qualify to that title (advanced nurse)? i don't know if i can be qualified but;

3.what if an employer in the US approves your application regardless of the experience or specialty? does these consular officers still have the right to deny me a visa?

** help me about these cause i think an employer is willing to support me about the process......pls....:typing

Specialist nurse is usually experience in a specialised area. If you have a employer and you meet the requirements for the visa being applied for you can still be denied, although I do not think it happens that often, if the officer feels that something is missing. Your job has to meet requirements so if employed as a specialist nurse then you have to be working in that field.

Your training needs to be BSN or equivalent and being specialised will help in finding a employer.

Hi Silverdragon. Is a 6 month work experience in a specialized field qualify one for H1B visa among other things?
