hi! i am a RN from the Philippines with a currently approved h1b.. if you are a BSN graduate and with an experience in critical care nursing, you may be eligible to apply for an h1b visa.. i just send my resume to an international recruiter last february, they ask for my credentials and they petitioned me right away.. you may contact me by email so i can recommend you to my petitioner and you can inquire about your plans of applying for an h1b..

hi can i know you email? id like to ask some info about your employer thanks!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
it's a GC, im just confused, i completed the DS-230 which is the application for Immigrant Visa here in the Phils. it was brought to New York by my sponsor since by then VSC was not yet released.

You have a long long wait ahead of you. You are affected by retrogression and there are many many more already in the queue ahead of you. Many have been waiting since 2006 for a visa and currently there are no visas so I am not sure what the agency is telling you but it is wrong. Even when visas are released in October the PD is expected to be approx 2005-6 and by the sounds of it you do not have a PD near that date (you indicate 2008)

I hope that the october 2009 VB will be back to 2006 or later dates. LEts all pray hard guys!... Years of wait will soon be over, lets all have FaITH in HIM and he'll do the rest for us. My PD is 2006yet I'm still here in PI hoping to get to US soon to help my mom and my family too... I'm really ashamed upto now I still ask my mom for my expenses. Salary of a staff nurse is terrible..

How does the priority date work? Are you automatically given a visa if your priority date is say March 2006? Or are you put into a pool of people and your name is drawn random or something? For the people who have been waiting, you've got a lottttttttttt of patience! Congratulations because patience is a virture, and I'm barely learning patience. Hats off to you.

If the PD is current then you are in the run for a visa but you still have to wait for a interview in the local embassy and people have had interviews and then not get a visa because there wasn't any left. So it can vary

Oh so they're not even guaranteed a visa. Say if they didn't get a visa because there weren't any left, do they get put back into the pool of people who are waiting for a visa? Or does it move to the priority date?

They stay on the list and move up it accordingly. Even if PD is current it doesn't guarantee a visa as a lot will depend on how many visas are available. This is why we have had no visas since May 09 as allocation ran out and new visas will not be issued until Oct 09 but unclear to which PD will be available

The more people apply for visas the longer it will take to receive one.

Not necessarily - depends how many visas are available.

Hey: Congratulations and I hope you received ur H-1B visa.

Do you mind let me know which hospital is willing to hire you? I am looking for hospitals that can sponsor me.

thank you

I would encourage you to read the responses to the thread you started about the same issue: https://allnurses.com/international-nursing/how-find-hospitals-417296.html

Others have explained to you that as a new nurse you do not qualify for an H1b visa.

I'm not sure why you find this so difficult to understand. You are here on a student visa--if your studies are over, it's time to go home.

It's not that complicated...
