GTCC Spring 2016

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hello All,

Just thought I would start this thread because applications are due in a little over a month. Just wanted to know who was applying to the program in the spring. I did a preliminary MAR review, and I think I have around 55 points. I haven't taken the TEAS test yet, which I am dreading because I have barely studied for it. I'm going to try to take it in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully a solid two weeks of studying will be enough. With the points that I have, all I have to do is pass the test. Look forward to hearing from more people.

Well supposedly letters went out late last week. I live in Burlington, so I'm hoping that I receive my letter today. From the people that I have talked to, they lost their points due to them changing the Humanities/FA requirement. If you took the classes that were specifically listed on the entrance sheet, then you should be fine. I have seen people get in with less than 36 points, so I think you will be okay. Like I told the other poster, try to keep a positive mindset :)

I have heard that the points range greatly from semester to semester, so heres to hoping. I was told through email that the letters would go out by the end of last week, but I also called and spoke to Jesse Cross, who is supposed to be the new nursing adviser replacing Tiffany Bryant, and he said that he was still waiting on the nursing department to give him the letters to send out. I think I'm going to call again today to see if they have sent them yet or not. The waiting is driving me crazy!

I just called GTCC and Jesse Cross is off campus for the rest of the week, so I was redirected to Robert Allison. I emailed him so hopefully he will reply today. I hope this doesn't mean that letters won't go out until Mr. Cross returns. I will let you guys know if I find out anything new.

Mshashem- Thank you for the update! I was really hoping to be getting my letter this week! I think with Tiffany leaving and now having another Nursing Advisor the whole process is going to take longer than they anticipated! Hopefully someone else can send the letter, and we don't have to wait for Mr.Cross to get back next week! UGHHH!!! Also in regards to the question about the alternate list. If you are on the alternate list you have a number. So when those who are originally accepted, they have to accept their seat or decline. Once they get the results, those who declined their seat are then offered to those on the alternate list. From what I've heard, they call you and say you're number such and such on the list, do you accept the seat or decline?

Hope that answers your question! :)

Letter came in today. I'm in guys. Good luck to the rest of you.

Congrats. Atleast we know they're out

Hi everyone. I've been following the thread for sometime now, however I had issues creating an account...I can officially comment now. :) I received my acceptance letter on Saturday and am looking forward to meeting everyone come January.

How many points did you have if you don't mind me asking?

I had 52 points.

Congrats to everyone who got in! I know yall are excited! Hopefully the rest of us will get our letters today or tomorrow!

Dani2389- how many points did you end up with? I remember you saying that you were in bio 165 now. I took it last spring but I still haven't taken 166.

I received my letter yesterday, and was ACCEPTED! :D Yayyy!!! For those of you who are waiting and want a heads up.... they are requiring a physical and a medical form needs to be completed by the Dr. Also CPR certification at the provider level throught American Heart Association. I lucked up and found a class this upcoming Thursday at 6pm if anybody wants the info. It's through CPR Works of Greensboro and just go on the website. It lists a calendar with dates/times they offer the classes. Good Luck to the rest of you guys!
