Hello All,
Just thought I would start this thread because applications are due in a little over a month. Just wanted to know who was applying to the program in the spring. I did a preliminary MAR review, and I think I have around 55 points. I haven't taken the TEAS test yet, which I am dreading because I have barely studied for it. I'm going to try to take it in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully a solid two weeks of studying will be enough. With the points that I have, all I have to do is pass the test. Look forward to hearing from more people.
Congrats..that's good that you were able to apply without finishing bio165... I went in to take my teas test while I was still in Bio 165 and the girl told me that I couldn't even take the teas or apply until I finished at least bio 165. So I had to wait until the end of the semester. I feel like the rules change and vary from one advisor to the next.
Hey guys. Those of you asking about CPR Certification... Look up CPR Works of Greensboro. The location is in High Point and it's $50 for the BLS Course and it's through the American Heart Association (Provider level). They print your cards at the site as well. I am turning in my CPR card along with my Medical Form all together so they have everything they need!
Those asking about alternates... I have heard of alternates getting in, it's just a matter of wether people are accepting their seats and getting everything turned in by the deadline. Good luck to you guys, I hope you get in! :)
I'm excited to meet everyone on the 21st for Orientation. And I'm sure if you're an alternate you would definitely know something by then since you'll have to do orientation and get fitted for uniforms.
Luckily I was already CPR certified due to the CNA course I took over the summer at ACC. I'm making a photo copy of that and all the required health records and I should be good to go. I already turned in the confirmation card. In terms of who also applied to Forsyth Tech, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of students applied there as well. The trend usually is that people choose that school over GTCC, so I think some of the alternates will be in luck.
I am truly excited to meet everyone on the 21st as well. Its going to be an interesting and difficult year and a half, but I think we can all get through it together. I'm thinking about possibly creating a facebook group just so we can all get to know each other before the 21st if you choose to do so.

Here it is. Its nowhere near done, but I have to go to work (the life of a CNA :***:), so I will work on it more when I get home tonight after my shift.
Took my CPR course at CPR Works in High Point and got my certification card the same day. $50. I hope to get in but I am in Anatomy 166 at GTCC now and it is kicking me. If anyone has taken 166 at GTCC and done well in it and would like earn a few bucks tutoring a fellow classmate let me know. I really could use some help.
Confirmation card is in and I personally handed my medical information to Ms. Phillips, so I am good to go. God only knows how excited I am. I really do look forward to meeting everyone in the next few weeks. Also, I updated the facebook page I created. I started a post where we could all get to know one another if you choose to do so.

I received my letter today. I am alternate #4 on the list which I'm pretty happy about since I haven't finished bio165 yet. If I do get a seat in the program I'll have to take bio 166 along with nursing 111. I am optimistic though and hope I'll get a seat. And I applied with 37 points. For my 1st mar back in the spring I had like 44 but with certain classes no longer counting and Tiffany at first saying my bachelors degree awarded me points, this time they said no I ended up with only 37.
